(I'm on the left and my brothers on the right)
It's the day before school and I don't think anyone's as excited as I am. I spent my summer getting credits for co-op. Co-op is a work placement where you learn to see if you like the job and honestly I hated it. I worked at a law firm organizing paper work and that got me 4 credits so I already don't have to take a semester but knowing me I will. I'll be heading into grade 11 and I've already completed some grade 12 courses and will be completing some more. I'm 16 years old and ahead of everyone in my school. My name is Melaani Avidago.
My brother, he's the captain of the baseball team and he can get any girl he wants. He's a year older, he's 17. No one knows we're related. His name is Alec.
Our parents, are never home, they're both lawyers and they make a great team. Maria and Alex Avidago, the "it"team as everyone called them. You wouldn't call them the greatest parents, a lot of their jobs included them going on trips. We usually only see them on holidays, and the summer if we're lucky. This summer we were somewhat lucky. They were here for around half of it and lucky for me I convinced them to buy me a Mercedes Benz G-wagon, but my mom won't let me have the keys yet.
"Mom, why can't I have the car yet? That's my baby",I whined hoping it would convince her.
"Come on sweetie, change your appearance and I'll let you have the car" she was convinced I had to change the way I looked because it wasn't me.
"I don't need to change my look, I shouldn't have to change my look, you should accept me for whatever way I look like", I already know this won't convince her.
"Fine don't change your look, you'll go with your brother", I knew by the look on her face she won there was no point in trying. Sadly that's when my brother walked in.
"I can't drive her tomorrow, I'm picking up my girlfriend and there's no way in hell she's going to find out we're related", as we can tell my brothers a dick.
"That's fine I'll walk", I stated hoping he'd at least drive me half way.
"You should, you could lose some weight", yup. He's a dick. That's when I hear my mom clear her throat, this isn't gonna be good, "you know sweetie your brothers right you could lose some weight",and with that they both walked out of the kitchen. Thank god I only woke up in the evening. I'm like 95 pounds and 4'11 but I was mostly muscle, you could even see my abs.
I wasn't like my brother, I like dancing especially contemporary. The only good thing about having this big house is that I lived in the pool house that had a dance studio attached to it, and if my brothers friends were over he'd call the pool house so I'd know and I would usually stay inside.
We already got our school schedule and I had grade 12 math first period, grade 11 english second, solo dance for third and fourth period. My school is the California high school of arts. Our school majored in arts and sports that pretty much it.
I love school but I hate the students I would constantly get bullied and sometimes my brother would be the one to bully me. Hell, even my parents would bully me and my mom hates stretch marks so she bought this cream that made them go away but what she didn't know is that they helped get rid of scars too. Sometimes the bullying would get so bad that I'd cut. I still do. I've never had anyone to talk to and this, this was my way out.
All of these negative thoughts came rushing back including me being told to lose weight a little bit ago it hurt. As a kid I was huge, you could probably go bowling with me as the ball by the time grade 8 was done I lost a bit of weight. Before grade 9 I lost as much weight as possible and I'd always look for the healthiest way. I'm proud of my body and I'm comfortable in it but hearing things like that come from my family it still hurts.
I decided it was time to just pack my school bag and get some rest. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.----------
If you have any thing you like or dislike please let me know and comment, I'm trying my best, im still new to this and I hope you guys like it!
