Fifteen minutes before

The main hydraulic doors to the lab are already open when I make my way down a set of stairs and past some building materials on the platform.

"'NEST.'" That's what Ada called it, and somewhere in here is a sample of the G-Virus. A sample she needs and is depending on me to collect in order for the F.B.I. to have more evidence in order to bring Umbrella down for their crimes.

Sparks spray from the sides of the third door that's still attempting to fully open and I have to duck under by quite a few inches. "Welcome to NEST, enjoy your visit," the same robotic voice from the car tells me as I right myself.

Regarding the doors behind me, if they're already open then Madeleine didn't just make it into the car, she definitely made it into the lab too.

That's when the harrowing thought occurs, that she didn't find a wristband like Ada did. Perhaps... she'd had one on her too that she kept secret and discarded the bag because it's useless now? No, that doesn't make sense. That doesn't explain leaving the weapons behind, or the fake ID's and passport. I'm sure it was an egregious accident on her part. She was so determined standing outside of Kendo's shop to aid Ada in helping her take out Umbrella. But after hearing that tape, putting it together that she worked for them up until recently... knowing she had a clue what the G-virus is and being offered a chance to go into the lab carrying it. What if...

There isn't a possibility that all along Madeleine played dumb about the lab's existence. Just so she could find her way to it and grab a sample herself for whatever reason... is there?

She's been working for Umbrella, for years. Although she sounded so certain in past conversations tonight of her hatred towards the company... And the questions formed at what's behind her and other children being here... It just doesn't do anything to slake the bubbling anger.

"Claiming she'd been trapped in the city for the last five days while everyone around her died. God knows what else is going on that she's been involved in," I scoff aloud as I scan the room. Somewhat eager for the action to alleviate some of my emotions. The wave of questions that can't be answered without her in front of me is drowning me, but the thought of seeing her is something I don't honestly think I'm ready for.

The lobby itself is polished, the floors shining and walls spouting no chips or sign of degradation. This place is new. Papers and pens sit on the front desk and behind that is a door into a small office, another sits on the wall to my left. With only one goal in mind though I start forward for the door that I'd guess leads further into the lab. Wanting to get the sample and just get out.

There's a beeping from the blue glass panel, "Authorized access only beyond this point."

Huffing, "Sounds about right," I retort and turn around. Heading for the small office behind the front desk to see if there's anything in there to tell me about the bracelet. I'd assumed there's different levels of clearance based on where you go here. Should've thought through that a general visitor's ID wouldn't be high up enough to get me into the main lab.

There's a small desk pressed into the wall with a white desk lamp angled at the center of the white surface where some documents are. Going through them yields nothing, just knocking things over like the pencil cup, dumping pens and pencils all over the desk. A tinge of frustration emerges at the possibility I made it this far, only to be locked out and unable to enter the lab to help Ada in her mission. "Goddammit," I seethe, pulling the desk's chair out and sitting down.
