Eight minutes before

I grab the lever and pull it towards me, there's a reaction in the octagonal space where the locomotive lights on the car come to life.

"Gotta get back to Sherry," I mutter to myself and jog to the door. Opening it and stepping outside the small room onto the platform as it begins descending. Heading for where the flight of stairs sits that runs up to a door into the locomotive—

A screech pierces the air, alerting me to that something is in here with me.

My head snaps up as I idly step around in an uneven circle. Scanning all around the ceiling in an attempt to find the source of the noise amidst the dark rafters—

I'm baffled when a black blur drops through the air and crashes onto the top of the car. On all fours with an extra set of arms smaller than the massive flesh tone front claws its crouched on. Teeth from the center of the chest now create a mouth two times bigger than it was when I last saw it and carry no eyes inside anymore. An almost oval shaped, white skull hovers above that mouth while a small angry red eye in the left arm and a huge one in front right arm gape down at where I stand, staring up at it in shock.

And whether Madeleine defeated that thing or not doesn't matter anymore as the teeth curl inwards. Then shoot straight out as spittle flies with another rage fueled bellow.

What I learned about her in that room before she fought this thing has been unable to leave my mind all this time. Knowing she was kidnapped, that she'd worked for Umbrella at one point up until the mansion. Leon was right, maybe in a way she once wasn't all there because if I'd sat and watched everyone die, had killed people, I wouldn't be either.

There wasn't really enough time to react to learning everything she said though. Not with the lab threatening to come down and Sherry dying on a bed. But if she survives. She will have some explaining to do.

Staring at that thing standing across from me. Knowing William's back again, coming after me with Sherry in that car just below it. I could care less because I'm stranded outside as the stairs retract into the ground. But I wouldn't run in there to hide anyways, he'd make his way inside somehow and over my dead body will I let him get to that little girl again.

"Biohazardous material detected on the lift. Eliminate immediately."

"I'm trying here!" I shout in response to the message, exasperated, "Why can't you just die?" I scream back at it as air rushes all around us in the descent to the bottom level.

Darting to my left as I wind the duffle around my front. Retrieving the MP5 Madeleine handed to me, I'll need something stronger than my SLS to rely on.

I disengage the safety switch and look over my shoulder at the crashing behind me. Seeing it jumped down and can only slowly turn itself towards me because of the body's sheer size. Lifting the MP5, recalling her instructions about the recoil. I think twice and observe above the trigger to find the gun has a three round burst fire option. I switch it to that. I have to ration ammo; I don't have enough to fight this thing guns ablazing. "I'm through with fighting you, asshole!" I unload the rest of the magazine into its body, bullets driving into the flesh of its side, taking in the sharp jutting of the spine from the back.

I drop the magazine, reaching into my bag for another—

It bounds, wildly and hurriedly like a deer running away might. Towards where I stand next to the locomotive's rear entrance. I round the rear to flee its chase, put some distance between him and I, as I turn right at the corner of the locomotive to hug the wall—
