Louis is beside himself! When he found Harry's letter he had to read it three times to realize what was written there, he just cried out loud. Hysterically, he ran to Krystal's room and stormed in without knocking. The leader was still sleeping peacefully in bed when suddenly a completely agitated Louis stood in front of her. He yelled incoherent sentences at her and she even had to use her Alpha tone so that he at least calmed down enough for her to understand what had happened. Louis had slumped in front of her eyes and buried his face in his hands, sitting like a heap of misery at Krystal's feet, who had now got up, and howling his heart out.

His brain is in such panic mode that he doesn't even know how he suddenly found himself on the sofa in the living room. His heart is beating fast, nausea is raging like a fire in his stomach and he can't stop crying. He holds the letter from Harry in his hands, clutched tightly in a fist and feels like it's the only thing left anchoring him before he has a total mental breakdown. Suddenly he feels arms around his shoulder that pull him into a firm sideways hug and from the smell he knows it's Helene.

"You poor thing, Krystal told me what's going on. Harry will definitely come back, don't worry!" she says and Louis doesn't believe a word she says, he smells her uncertainty about her own words pressed so close to her. She strokes his arm reassuringly with her hand but Louis doesn't calm down, it's not Harry holding him and until he's safe and sound with him again he won't be able to calm down. Not only the fears about Harry make him almost faint but also the physical pain. Many small stitches run through his body, making him painfully aware that his Alpha is nowhere near him. Just the slightest thought of what might happen to Harry or if he might even be killed makes him howl loudly again, his whole body twitches from his sobs and he pushes himself further into Helene. He needs support because it feels like he's out at sea and he is capsized, his lifeline lost. Just like Harry.

"Louis, you need to calm down. Think of the baby!" Helene says and lifts his head up by his chin, her blue eyes looking serious and seeking his gaze. "I... he... my mate... fear!" he just stammers and tries to form sentences that make sense, doesn't Helene understand how much he's suffering?

"Krystal just left with the others. They want to see Anne and ask if she knows where he is. They're going to look for him!" she continues to talk soothingly to him, but Louis shakes his head. "I do not know how! How... am I... supposed to... calm down?" Louis says with a choked voice, the longing for Harry making him cramp. "Come on, I'll take you up to your nest..." Helene murmurs and pulls him off the sofa with her. Slowly they go up the stairs and in their room she gently leads him to the nest and helps him to sit inside. "Get undressed Louis, I'm looking for Harry's worn clothes to throw on," she says quietly, walking into the adjoining bathroom. But Louis just sits there with his head hanging, the loud sobs have turned into quiet, desperate tears and he feels numb. When Helene comes back into the room he hears her sigh and shortly afterwards her hands pull his shirt over his head. She pulls Harry's thick worn sweater over him, which smells so wonderfully of his mate that Louis closes his eyes for a moment and pretends he's with him. "Can I leave you alone for a moment? I want to make something to eat," Helene asks in a soft voice and Louis doesn't care, he's not hungry, he's not interested in anything but his Alpha. When he is silent and doesn't answer, Helene trudges out of the room and Louis breathes a sigh of relief. It's all too much for him. He doesn't even know what to do with all the feelings that are raging inside him, so he collects all of Harry's other shirts in the nest and buries himself under them. All the single pieces of clothing lie like a blanket over him and slowly his tears dry.

"Please come back to me, please come back to me, please come back to me..." he whispers quietly to himself, eyes squeezed tight and he imagines Harry running towards him and they sink into a kiss. If he manifests it strongly enough then it must happen, at least that's what he envisions and what should he do instead? He is completely shocked when suddenly Helene stands in front of his nest and carefully touches his shoulder. "Louis, my dear, please eat something. I made you a plate with fruit and a sandwich," she says and Louis looks around at her for a moment, sees the plate and shakes his head straight away. "Please... you have to eat something. Think about the baby," she begs, but Louis doesn't want to eat anything when his mate might have completely different worries and problems. He doesn't feel hungry or has an appetite, he just wants to bathe in peace in his misery and bury himself in Harry's scent.
