The last three weeks have been filled with training for the upcoming war. And it takes all of Harry's strength. He feels weaker by the day, his heart keeps hurting after fighting with his pack and Louis is beside himself with worry. After training, he always drops into bed and falls asleep immediately. Anne has tried a few times to sense what's causing the stings and pains in his heart, but it's like a black wall that doesn't let her healing magic through. She can't even relieve his tiredness anymore and Harry's physical condition also shocks him. He has mixed all sorts of remedies and drank herbal teas, but nothing helps. It weighs heavily on him that the moments that would actually bring them joy as a couple and expectant parents are overshadowed by his physical condition. Louis' belly went on a boost almost overnight and he looks so adorable with his bump. But Louis hardly cares and just spends his time holding Harry in his arms when he's overcome with pain again or falls sound asleep in it for hours.

The pack is worried about him too, he can smell it at dinner together and it doesn't help keep his fears down. What if he just dies, leaving behind his mate and unborn child? In addition, the trial is soon and although Harry is sure that it will be in their favor since they now have the evidence in the form of Des's diaries and Anne's old letters, there is of course a bit of uncertainty. Every day he reads a bit in the diaries to learn more about his father, whom he never met.

They are both sitting in front of the fire in the living room and Louis is knitting clothes for their baby again while Harry has one of the diaries on his lap and is reading it. But his gaze constantly wanders back to Louis, who looks particularly cute today. He has a tight beige sweater that accentuates his round tummy and his hair has grown a bit longer. Again and again he swipes his fringe and puts it aside, but it keeps falling in his face. "Buttercup, would you like to take a break and read me from the journal?" he asks softly, reaching out to him and lightly tickling his waist. "Why? Difficult to concentrate? I notice your looks," Louis grins mischievously but keeps his eyes on his work and continues knitting. Harry can't help but laugh, "You got me, but I have to say it's hard not to be distracted by your beauty," and tugs at his sweater, his Alpha wanting his mate's undivided attention. Louis sighs dramatically but puts the things aside, then crawls closer to him on all fours and kisses him lightly on the lips. He then sits cross-legged next to him and pats his leg, "Come lay your head on my lap and rest while I read to you. You've got dark circles under your eyes again, my love," he says, and a brief worried expression crosses his face, which has become a bit fuller due to the pregnancy, but doesn't detract from his beauty. But as quickly as it came, the gaze immediately gives way to a loving one and Louis sends him a comfortably warm feeling through the bond. Harry immediately follows his Omega's request, puts his head on his lap and automatically snuggles his stomach, which he kisses loudly.

Louis retrieves the diary and opens it, holding it in front of his face with one hand while running his other hand through Harry's long curls. He begins to read quietly and Harry closes his eyes, imagining how his father wrote the entry back then.

"Today I received another letter from A. Our child had their birthday a few days ago and is growing up carefree and healthy. I would give anything to be a good father to them and it hurts especially on days like this. I know that the child should never exist. I still have pangs of conscience towards A. and can't believe that she just forgave me like that. I couldn't think of a better mother for the child. Her kindness and her looks attracted me from the first moment and it's a pity that she doesn't belong to my race, maybe she would have become my partner and we could have been a real family. So I'll probably die lonely one day, because no wolf has attracted me to this day. Will the child take more after her? I absolutely have to ask A. for a picture in my next letter. But it is dangerous to own such things, even this diary is a big risk and so I always hide it well. If my pack should find out what I'm hiding then it's a reason to dispossess me as a leader. That would play the Kid Jeff into his hands. A young teenage wolf who is already power hungry and cruel. He has pulled a large part of the wolves behind my back to his side and spreads his sick thoughts that the fairies have to serve us. They don't dare with the witches, their magic spells are too strong for them to put up with. But the delicate fairies are often tormented by them and there's nothing I can do about it. They don't respect me, and even if I punish them, they almost gratefully accept it and continue their meanness. Recently I wanted to have a conversation with a witch - that she would help us to banish these wolves, but she blocked me straight away, they don't want anything to do with a pack like ours. And even if I throw the cruel wolves out of the pack then it's no use, they just keep raging even more without a bit of my control. I decided to team up with some of my good Omegas, Betas and Alphas and look for a solution with them."
