I was at school enjoying the hot day with my friends and i heard Charlie shouting from across the tennis court. I looked over and he was having a fat go at Nick. I was instantly curious and walked over to see what was happening.
"I can't believe you Nick! Why would you do that i thought we were friends?" Charlie said, pained. I had no clue what this could be about so i asked around and no one knew.
"Sod this, i'm leaving." Charlie said. Nick called after him but Charlie didn't look back. Tao followed after Charlie and i followed Nick. He was walking to get his bag and leave.
"Nick what the hell was that about?"
"nothing" he muttered, not looking at me.
"Nick. What was he yelling at you for?" I asked, more sternly.
"God you don't need to know everything Y/n Ok? It wasn't even anything to do with you" He snapped. I was taken aback but didn't react because i knew he's probably just in a really bad mood. I watched as he stormed off.

At lunch i gathered the netball team in the gym.
"Right girls, tonight is the match. It is so important we do our best. Herne has one of the best teams possible ok so if we beat them, that could be really good for us. So as of right now we need to be practicing our asses off. Everyone on the court we're getting straight into a game" I said.
We practised non stop all lunch with just a 5 minute break. I have high hopes for this team.
After we finished i headed to my last class of the day which was physics. I remembered i sit next to Charlie in that class so maybe i'll find out what happened.
When i walked in Charlie still looked very upset. I sat down next to him and held his hand
"Hey Charlie, whats going on?" I asked gently.
"your little boyfriend is an asshole" He said
"what did he do?"
"He invited Ben to the rugby team to play the position that spends most of the time with my position." He said, I was very confused
"Why would he do that though, he knows what happened, he was there" I said.
"Yeah exactly, which is why i'm pissed off. Anyway i told him i'd quit the rugby team if Ben joined and he said i was being dramatic" My eyes widened.
"Jesus. I'm so sorry. Don't quit the rugby team though, you're really good. If Ben does join, be better than him and just like tackle him even though he's on your team" I said. Charlie laughed a bit
"That's not how it works but thanks y/n. Do you think you could talk to Nick, get him to change his mind about Ben" He asked
"Definitely, he's not really speaking right now but even if he doesn't, i'll speak to Ben" Charlie just gave me a hug and thanked me. We got on with the lesson and it was bloody boring.

The netball match was about to start and the chairs were filling up. I saved a seat for Nick like he asked me to but he wasn't there. I assumed he was just cutting it close.
The match started and we were doing great. I'd already scored 3 goals and the other team scored 1. I was so gassed. I looked over to where Nick was supposed to be sitting and he wasn't there. He wasn't in the audience at all. Imo, Charlie, my brother and my mum were though which was nice to see but i was still gutted about Nick. He promised me he'd be here.
At half time i went over to the water stand and saw Charlie head over to me.
"How come Nicks not here?" he asked. I shrugged
"Not sure, i hope nothing happened to him, he promised he would be here" I said, disappointedly. Charlie just gave me a hug
"Your doing so amazing, we're all really proud of you" He smiled widely. I thanked him and had to get back to the match.
A few minutes later a girl on my team got pushed and she twisted her ankle. The ref said to keep playing without fouling.
"That's literally contact!" I said at the ref.
"Didn't see it" She shrugged
"Are you kidding me? She pushed my teammate over, get her out" I was in disbelief.
"Let me get a second opinion." She turned to the other coaches and did some talking. We had to get one of our subs on to replace the girl that got injured
"We have decided to disqualify the contact player. Please get a sub on" She said finally.
"There we go, was it that hard" I muttered.
We kept playing for another half hour and just before the whistle went i scored our winning point. My team screamed in joy and pride and i was beaming. If only Nick could've seen that. I saw my mum and brother jump up and cheer. Charlie and Imo were hugging each other, jumping up and down.
In that moment i felt like the happiest person in the world.

The next day at school i saw Nick walking up to me.
"Hey how are you" he asked. I looked at him expectingly. Was he not going to mention the fact he missed my game, or even ask about how it went.
"What?" He asked, when i didn't respond.
"Do you seriously not get it?" I asked. He shook his head confused
"You missed my game last night Nick" i muttered sadly as i walked away
I was worried thinking maybe something happened to him, he was hurt or something i don't know. When in reality, he just forgot.
It really hurt that he forgot. It shouldn't but it does. I was really stressed about it, it's all i ever talked about and he promised, he made me save him a seat.
