Jisoo paced around her room, feeling the oppressive weight of cabin fever. She'd been there only a few days with just one trip to the store, and she was beginning to feel annoyed with her own brooding.

She argued with herself about everything that had happened. Should she have intercepted the kissing exes rather than run away? Did she want to hear what Jennie would have said? Could she have resisted the urge to punch Taehyung square in the face, and then risk even worse publicity?

She wondered if there was anything Jennie could say that would turn her mood around. Would she even try? Would she just let her down gently and explain that everything at the lake had been a brief, passing affair? Jisoo couldn't bear rejection and considered going home, all the way back to the city to resume her life.

Even if Jennie was sorry or had some acceptable explanation, could she ever trust her? Jisoo cursed Soojoo for having bestowed all this baggage. She wondered if the wound would ever fully heal, or if the entire incident would be a giant ugly scar on her psyche that would affect every subsequent relationship. It was certainly interfering with Jennie and whatever it was they had started. Or tried to start.

Guilt became a palpable emotion in the mix as well. Jennie's dirty laundry was being aired by some lying schmuck who never deserved her, and Jisoo wondered what effect this would have on her career, if any. Maybe Jennie was better off without her.

Jisoo had looked at her phone a hundred times on the last day. She opened the text messages and stewed over the last one from Jennie. Come back. So Jennie did want to talk. Jennie wanted to see her. But she'd be thinking long and hard if she wanted to see her.

She tossed the phone onto the pillow and reclined in the bed.

Enough of this.

There were a total of four channels to choose from at the bed and breakfast, one that seemed to only report on the weather, one playing infomercials, one playing bad twenties movies. and one news station. After suffering through HBO Movies she flipped to the news hoping to catch an evening recap.

The anchorwoman was signing off for the night, and Jisoo sighed. Perhaps a shower was in order to wash off the pizza grease. As she headed for the bathroom she heard the familiar jingle of the opening of an entertainment news program. She pulled off her robe and ran her hands over her hair.

"Kim Soojoo and Jennie Kim faced off yesterday at Kim Jisoos' lakehouse. Stay tuned for the juicy footage!"

Jisoo came bounding out of the bathroom and skidded to a stop in front of the TV.

Footage?! Oh Christ.

She sat through some nonsense interviews with celebrities promoting their new movies, and even a clip of SBS owner, Kim Hanbin leaving a gym and waving away the cameras as they shouted questions about Soojoo. The program teased before every commercial break to keep watching for the exciting confrontation.

"Arrghh!" Jisoo growled as they went to break over and over again.

After twenty minutes of watching and waiting, it began. Jisoo tried not to blink.

"Kim Soojoo, filming for her new reality show, took a trip to the former couple's summer home."

The shot cut to Jennie, filthy and scowling Jisoo's heart was pounding out of her chest. The two women were face to face. It was her worst nightmare. Several censorship bleeps blared out of the TV.

Shit. Here we go.

The words revenge fuck from Soojoo's mouth made her recoil and nearly break her teeth with the force of her clamping jaw.
