CHAPTER FORTY SEVEN

Kat came over later on in the afternoon. She came to her room and saw me there

Kat: how is she?
Me: I don't know. She's still asleep. Barely ate
Kat: why is she home and not in the hospital?
Me: her family prefers home treatment
Kat: did you get any sleep?
Me: not really
Kat: You should. I'd watch her. Barry went to the store to get some more milk for her. Jayden took Bryant out. Chloe is making lunch. Everything is fine.
Me: Thanks

Kat's POV

He got on the other side of the bed and slept off almost immediately. I did admire the love he had for her but I hoped it last. Kim was going to break if it didn't. I looked at her and laid beside her. I loved her like she was my best friend. To me, she was. I hugged her. She moaned and got comfortable under my hug. I smiled. She was such a sweetheart. She did everything for me. Gave everything for me, for her friends. Earlier last month, I bashed a car. She paid for the repairs in full. Her phone rang. An unknown number. Who was that? I picked up

Me: hello?
Tristan: Hey, Kim?
Me: sorry this is Kat. Kim is unavailable right now
Tristan: oh, okay. Tell her to give me a call when she is
Me: who's this? I mean, what name should I give her?
Tristan: tell her Tasha's brother, Tristan
Me: I will
Tristan: bye
Me: bye

He hung up. Tasha's brother? Wasn't that Jayden's girlfriend? I stood up from the bed and went down to the kitchen. Chloe was there

Me: something smells good
Chloe: Thanks. Is she up yet?
Me: not yet

I said opening the refrigerator

Me: There's no pineapple juice?
Chloe: top layer
Me: why there?
Chloe: Kim and Bryant reacts to pineapple so it has to be out of reach
Me: ohh, that explains why
Chloe: would you be staying for lunch?
Me: I don't think so
Chloe: why?
Me: nothing actually
Chloe: then you should stay. I tried out this new recipe and I need a lady's opinion on it. Kim might not be able to eat it so I was thinking you would
Me: alright

I said smiling at her. I left the kitchen. I went back to Kim's room and saw her awake. She laid down on her back

Me: You're up
Kim: you're here
Me: you should rest
Kim: I feel like my head is being squashed right now
Me: Effects of whatever meds you were placed on

I said touching her forehead

Me: You're burning up

I went to her restroom and got a towel. I dipped it in water and placed it on her forehead

Kim: did he stay here overnight?

She said, looking at a sleeping Nicholas

Me: Yeah, he did.
Kim: he shouldn't have
Me: well he did. deal with that

She rolled her eyes at me. I looked away. I checked my phone. It was past 2

Me: time to take your meds
Kim: again?
Me: yes again if you want to get better. It's not even about what you want anymore. I'd go get a cup of water

I stood up and I left for the kitchen. Barry came back in

Barry: is she up yet?
Me: she is. I just came for a glass of water so she can take her next dosage
Barry: I got her pizza. Something to boost her appetite
Chloe: not sure how well that would work but sure. Let's give it a try

Barry's POV

Kat grabbed the Pizza box, a glass of water and a bottle of orange juice

Chloe: you know she's going to be okay right?
Me: I do. Did dad call yet?
Chloe: not yet. You know he's not going to buy the lie of she stepped out a while ago anymore
Me: I actually think he stopped buying it a while ago

I laughed. I got a plate and took a chunk of cake. got a very large ice cream bowl

Me: I'd be in Kim's room if you need me

I went up to her room. She was up with Kat. Nick was still asleep

Kim: is that ice cream?
Me: vanilla, your favorite

She collected the bowl from me and smiled at it.

Kim: sorry, I can't. I have no appetite
Kat: okay then, just take little of everything

Kat removed a slice of pizza and fed Kim. She ate half of the slice and dropped it

Me: you should try to eat more. You already look leaner that before
Kim: I'm not hungry. Get my laptop please

I walked to her table and got her laptop

Me: what do you want it for?
Kim: I have to check my mail
Me: you shouldn't be working
Kim: I'm a blogger. I have to
Me: not today Kim. Get better first

I said taking the laptop to my room. She sighed. I came back to her room and met Nick awake. Arguing with her

Nick: just listen to everybody please. He took your laptop away and you got on your phone
Kim: because it's important
Nick: I can't you when you're like this, unreasonable
Kim: then maybe you should leave!
Nick: really, Fine

He got out and slammed the door behind him. She dropped on her bed

Kim: I want to sleep

She said turning her back to us. I sighed and left the room

Kimberly's POV

Kat: you know he's right
Me: didn't give him the right to raise his voice at me
Kat: that's your problem?
Me: yes
Kat: Kim, He's stressed and tired and cranky. He drove you to the hospital and drove you back. He stayed up all night because of you Kim. He watched you through out the night. He was scared. So maybe yes, he ought to shout at you if you still want to stress yourself and what? Kicking him out? Seriously Kim?
Me: he should find a place to cool off

Nicholas'POV

I drove to her spot. She did know how to get on my nerves. I stayed there till it was dark. I got into my car and noticed my bracelet. I loved her, undeniably. I was going to do everything for her. Go the ends of the earth for her. I didn't only love her, I was hooked on her. Yes, I wanted to sleep with her too. I wanted to know whet she felt like. I started my car and drove back to her place. If I was going back home today, I should get my things. I dropped by an eatery to have dinner. After eating and paying up, I went to her place. I rang the doorbell. Barry opened up

Barry: you're back
Me: came to get my things. I'm leaving
Jayden: why?
Barry: Kim threw him out
Me: exactly
Jayden: we both know she didn't mean that
Me: sure as hell felt like she did
Jayden: you're both hot headed. I don't even know how you both came this far together
Barry: what he's trying to say is that you should talk to her
Me: yeah, I don't think so

I said as I headed up to her room. I walked in without knocking the door. She was up. I saw a bowl chicken soup on her laps. I got my box and opened it.

Kim: you're leaving?
Me: what does it look like?
Kim: why?
Me: you forget asking me to?
Kim: I meant for that moment not for good!
Me: you don't tell me to leave Kim. Not when you are wrong
Kim: I wasn't. You had no right to yell at me!

I stopped and saw tears well up in her eyes. She looked away. If anything got to her, it was someone raising their voice at her

Kim: leave if you want to

She said as she dropped the bowl on the table and laid down. She turned her back to me and pulled up the duvet to her neck
