As I lay in bed, I hear a small noise, a creaking of a door, the door in my room- it's around 2am right now, so it's probably just the wind. Right? But then, I feel a poke on my shoulder blade. I try turn away, to make it stop, but it keeps poking, so I face towards whatever is poking me.

"Hello," says the small blue man, hovering above my bed. What on earth? Who is that?

I jolt upwards, fear flowing through me, before the memories of the last day flow back over me, reminding me this is normal, and Amber wouldn't be scared, so I shouldn't. It's the little dude who told

"What do you want?" I grumbled, rubbing my eyes of sleet.

"I was just checking in on you!" He said, acting fake offended. What a nuisance.

"In the middle of the night?" I reply. Seriously, who checks in on someone in the middle of the night?!? Not cool. I was sleeping.

"Actually, It's.." He checks a tiny watch on his tiny wrist "2:34 in the morning, so you're 2 hours and 34 minutes off." Seriously? To the minute! I can probably say that due to the time I went to bed and the time I'll get out of bed 2am IS the middle of the night, but I'm too tired for that. Maybe later.

"Ugh, it's too late- or early- for specifics. What do ya want." I grumble once more. Is this little fella always this annoying? Poor Amber. I doubt she got any sleep if he's always like this.

"Well, first, I overheard everything when you were talking to Marco." Does he mean my "Uncle" Marco? That's not good. Not good at all.

"Shit." The first word that comes to mind slips out my mouth, and it's just that. Shit.

"Yeah that sounds about appropriate, but it's very unladylike to swear. Star would kill me if she knew I didn't at least tell you to not do it." He means Star as in my "mum", I think. I mean, what other Star do I know? None. Exactly.

". . . So, what do you want from me? To admit everything? Or do they already know."

"No, no, no, I know exactly why it happened and admitting things isn't going to help you at all! But... I might accidentally let it slip...." He says deviously.

"What do you want then?" I moan. This little blue guy is SO annoying. Blackmailing me?!? Seriously?!?

"Pudding." Wait... What?

"Just... Pudding? We're in a castle, you probably know where the kitchen is better than me. In fact, not just probably. You almost certainly do."

"That tone of voice? A little insulting, frankly." Are you kidding me?

"It's in there!" The little blue guy whisper yells, pointing me to a fridge in a dimly lit kitchen. I sneak over and open the door, and begin to search through the ingredients. Leek, carrots, cucumber, mince, yoghurt... Pudding! I grab a pot and sneak back to where the blue man was floating, and pass it to him before quickly walking back to my room.

"Blackmail tastes amazing." The blue man says with a mouth full of pudding, some splattering on my bed. Gross.

"So you won't tell?" I ask, just to confirm.

"No, I won't." He says, finishing his pudding and just tossing the cup away. Onto the floor. God this guy is infuriating.

". . . What's your name?" I ask him, hit by the sudden realisation I don't know his name.

"I could ask you the same question. What's your name, not-Amber?"

"My name's Amelia. Now what's yours?"

"Amelia, interesting.... I'm Glossaryck."

"Weird name for a weird blue dude. Fitting."

"You know, I'm starting to rethink lying to Star..."

"It's not lying! It's just... omitting the truth!"

"Good point. Righty ho, I'm off!" He says, gliding out of my room. That little thing is INSUFFERABLE.

Glossaryck.
