School sweet school

"Are you OK sweetie?" Father asks. "You've gone pale. Are you feeling well?"

Darn these adults and being so observant! Ugh, I am not explaining this.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just felt a little faint," I explain quickly.

We step into the oh-so-familiar halls, and I notice people I know- Some I hate, some I like. Some are looking really gloomy, far more than usual.

"Did you know, one of the students who went here went missing a few days ago? Her name was Amelia, they've been looking everywhere for her." Mariposa says grimly. I feel myself go even paler than before. Amelia. That's MY name. I'm missing. I'm a missing child. Oh god. Oh, I don't know how to feel about this! There'll be an opening in all of my classes at least? Oh, but if a strange girl turns up just days after another girl her age goes missing, and picks all the same subjects as her, that's gonna be mighty suspicious, is it not?

I'd rather not let it get out who I am, maybe I can have a fresh start, I already know who to and to not be friends with, I know who'll stab me in the back and who won't, I can start over!

"Are you sure you're OK sweetie? You've gone pale again," Mama frowns, checking my face and putting the back of her hand to my forehead. "You don't seem to have a temperature, so you don't seem too sick..."

"I'm fine mama!" I giggle, removing her hand from my head.

We look around the school, as I see all the blocks and classrooms I know so we'll, even seeing some of my teachers. My teachers don't look too glum, but that's expected, they're teachers, not only is it not their job to care, they probably reckon I'll be found soon- unless Amber took my body and ran off, I won't. Because I'm here, in her body.

As we reach the head teachers office, they explain they can give me the spot if I (as Amelia) am not found by the end of the week, because it's not good to give up another students space, even if you're getting paid good for it. The deal is made, and we go back to Mariposa's house for dinner, and mama helps me set up my room in her house. We have fish and chips for dinner, though I have nuggets, because I like the nuggets from the local chip shop. Not that I've ever had them before.... as Amber.

After we were done eating, mama went to my room to make sure my "mirror" was working.... By standing in front of it and saying "call mum" to make sure it called her phone. Woah. That's incredible, but I had to act like I'd seen it before, because Amber probably knew how it worked just fine. It did work, just so you know. I can call them from a mirror, that's so cool!

As they left, I decided to get settled into my room properly. I had time to look around, and find stuff that might be interesting. I also remembered that I'd need to find a way around the no hoods policy, and hats wont work either, but I'm not just walking around with my horns out! Oh the comments I'd get...

Maybe I can keep a hood on and call it because of a hair dye disaster? My hair suits me, but I can still call it a disaster... But that may not work. I want something that can be worn and cover only the horns....

I begin to search through draws, finding a hoodie I can't wear because it's not uniform, a had that wouldn't cover my horns, until I find an array on headbands with horns on them- And the inside is hollow, for my real horns. Score!

I try them on, and find they all fit perfectly! I might want to try have a hood as well anyways, because whilst I doubt the headbands are allowed, they're least likely to get me in trouble. Plus, I know for a fact my school doesn't allow dyed hair. I actually had dyed hair anyways, when I was there, but I even had 1 teacher, a substitue, who would only call me "Mermaid hair" instead of my name, because I had my hair fade from gold to bleach blonde to blue, which definitely makes it look like mermaid hair.

Tommorow, we're probably going to buy uniform. I know my school only sells uniform from a specific shop, but they tend to struggle on stock, so we might be a little stuck... Maybe we'll ahve an exception made and I can buy items without the logos on them, if there's a stock issue.
