bradley and i both returned to my office and i dismissed midnight to go sit in beau's much more comfortable office while we worked out the details.

"the handbook says sexual assault and harassment are two of the biggest acts that can result in expulsion," i said, "brian sand could be kicked out of top gun for good and his chances in the military are shot with that on his record."

"you know they'll never take it that far," bradley sighed, "they don't care enough about making sure women are treated with respect in this field."

"you did," i said, "that's why idaho got removed from top gun."

"because a man said he should," he said, "it's messed up but that's what they're accepting nowadays."

"it's bullshit," i said.

"we work for beau and chester now," he reassured me, "they have spent their whole life as students watching women's rights he reformed in the military. they'll want to help us. they'll want to help you."

"don't act like they like me more," i said.

"well, they do," he shrugged.

"shut up," i couldn't help but smile.

"pull up brian's file," rooster said, "i wanna see something."

"sure," i answered and began to pull up his file on my computer. then we both paused and looked at each other.

"no fucking way," rooster said.

"fuck," i said.

"this certainly explains a lot," rooster replied.

"blake sand, call sign...idaho," i sighed, "father of brian sand, call sign beach."

"how the hell did they let this slide?" rooster asked, "blake has a sexual assault case against him with the school. they never even let him fly in the force!"

"it must've slipped," i said, "besides brian is his own person. they can't just judge a kid based on their parent."

"isn't there that saying 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree'?" rooster asked, "maybe they should start judging kids based on their parents."

"brian is 17, rooster," i said, "he's a horny teenager. i'm not justifying what he did, i'm just saying he's a kid."

"and?" rooster asked.

"blake was easily in his late twenties when he sexual assaulted me," i answered.

"he was also MARRIED," rooster pointed out.

"he had a lot of issues," i sighed.

"if i have to see that fucker again, i'm gonna lose my shit," he said.

"we're not allowed to," i said, "we're instructors. we're in a professional field now, not in the top gun student field."

"don't i wish we were still in the student field," rooster mumbled.

"shut up," i laughed.

"not like that," he rolled his eyes and i raised an eyebrow at him. "okay yeah like that. but also so we didn't have to be the ones to do this stuff."

"give kids justice?" i asked.

"that's not what i mean," he replied, "someone's gonna get hurt. imagine being the one to do that."

"give consequences?" i asked, "he deserves what's coming his way, bradley."

"i know, just like his father did back then," he answered, "no one touches my (y/n) and gets away with it."
