I tie my hair into a sloppy ponytail before I slip into a baggy t-shirt, I'm not proud to admit this but this may or may not be one of Cole's old t-shirts that I stole and decided to never return him. In my defence it was extremely comfortable and the pastel shade of blue complimented my skin-tone.
I trudge over to my sofa before collapsing into it, I turn on the television and search for Christmas movie, after pretending that I'm going to pick anything else, I put on 'The Grinch'.
I groan loudly when I hear knocks coming from my apartment door, why is it that every time I get comfortable, I have to get up?
I pause the movie before I stand up and make my way towards the door, my eyebrows knit together when I see Cole standing there with Belle in his arms, she was wearing her princess pyjama's.
'W-What are you guy's doing here?'
Cole rolls his eyes playfully, 'I thought you'd be happier to see us.'
'N-No I am! I'm extremely happy, just a little confused.'
'We're having a sleepover!' Belle cries out as she jumps into my arms, I stumble back slightly before clutching her closely to my chest.
'A sleepover?'
The dark-haired boy in-front of me nods slowly, 'I figured that, we've already missed years of family time and now I know the reason for it, it seems pretty fucking stupid that we would waste anymore time, not doing stuff together and I remember when you where pregnant, you said that one of the things that you where most looking forward to was watching Christmas movies together as a family.'
My heart warms intensely as tears burn the corner of my eyes, 'Y-You remembered that?'
'Of course I did.'
A strangled sob escapes my lips as Belle nestles her head into the crook of my neck, I stroke her hair gently as I mouth 'thank you' to Cole who gives me a small smile.
'Come in!' I urge as I move aside, so that he can enter my apartment.
With Belle still in my arms, I place us both down on the sofa, I reach over and grab the blanket that is bunched up beneath my feet and wrap it gently around her.
Cole gives me an amused look, 'It looks like you started the movie marathon without us.'
'Perhaps it was mothers intuition.'
'Perhaps.'
Belle grins at me brightly as she wriggles in my lap, 'I love this movie!'
'I know you do baby.' I murmur against her hair before I press a kiss on the top of her head.
'Do you want to hear a little secret Bells?'
She turns her head in the direction of her father, 'Yes please.'
'When your mommy had you in her belly, she made us watch this movie that many times, we nearly called you Cindy-Lou.'
She giggles loudly, 'That's silly.'
He reaches forward and gently pokes her belly, 'It is very silly, isn't it.'
I raise an eyebrow as I look at the blue backpack led next to Cole's feet, 'Is there any snacks in there by any chance?'
He laughs loudly, 'Yes there is and before you ask I did pick up some skittles.'
I give him a toothy smile, 'Pass them over.'
Belle nudges me gently, 'Mama, you need to say please.'
'Yeah Poppy, where are your manners?'
I narrow my eyes before I give him my middle finger from behind Belle's head so that she couldn't see it, 'Here they are.'
