I groan loudly as I feel my elbow being dragged into another store, my cousin Jasmine was back in town and she wanted me to help her find the perfect present for her fiancé.
'Just buy him a hat.' I mutter grumpily.
She rolls her eyes, 'Poppy, this man literally gave me a rock the size of my head, earlier this year. I can't just get him a hat.'
'Fine, then get him two hats.'
'What about you?'
'What about me, what?'
'Your mom told my mom, that Cole is coming over for Christmas dinner, does that mean that something could potentially be happening between you two again?'
I let out a small sigh as I shake my head, 'No, I think we're finally just starting to become friends.'
'I don't think you two will ever be able to be friends.'
My eyebrows knit together, 'Because...you two used to look at each other as if you put all the stars in the sky, and quite frankly I don't think two people who ever exchanged glances like that could ever just be friends.'
I squirm uncomfortably, 'Maybe not, but I'm willing to try.'
She raises her eyebrow, 'Is that your subtle way of telling me, that you are totally not over him yet?'
I roll my eyes, 'We both know I'm not, you have to stop me from drunk calling him, every-time we go out.'
'I thought you said that you only wanted to call him, to check in on how Belle is.'
'We both know that was a lie!'
'How do you know that he doesn't feel the same way about you?'
'Because I fucking abandoned him, I left without a single trace. I don't think he'll ever be able to fully forgive or trust me again.'
'But he knows the truth now, right?'
'Yes but...I still continuously lied to him, I told him I was okay when I wasn't.'
'Because you where sick.'
'Maybe so, but I still broke his trust.'
'You could always try and talk to him, you know see where he stands.'
I narrow my eyes at her, 'I'd rather drop dead.'
Jasmine snorts loudly, 'You are so dramatic, I see where Belle get's it from now.'
...
I furrow my eyebrows as I squint my eyes, my hands are beginning to ache from all the sowing I've been doing for the last few hours. I've nearly finished the first of Belle's princess dresses that I'm making her for Christmas.
I startle wildly as a knock echoes my apartment, I sigh to myself before I lift myself up from out of my seat and head towards the door, I swing it open to see my landlord Kenny stood there.
'Hey peach, how are you this evening?' I ask as I lean against the doorframe.
'Your rent is late.'
I wince, 'I know, I'm sorry about that! It's just I've only just started my new job and I haven't gotten paid yet.'
A smirk tugs on his lips, 'They are other ways that you can pay me.'
I wrinkle my nose, 'What other types of payment are you talking about Kenneth?'
He tugs on his belt, 'I think you know what I mean.'
I give him a sugary sweet smile, 'Are you saying that I should prostitute myself out to you?'
