Chapter II
Las Almas and a drink
I don't understand why Laswell thought Los Vaqueros could help us in this situation, nor would I enjoy their company. I don't trust them, I don't trust them at all. I don't trust Ghost and Soap either, and don't get me started on that Shadow Company she's working with. I didn't get to work with them yet, but I've seen Grave's face, he doesn't seem like a trustful guy.
I was sitting in the helicopter, enjoying a novel, or well trying to enjoy it. It's hard to concentrate on it when you're in a military vehicle, but I do need to appreciate the respect those two have, letting me read it without any disturbances. But unfortunately I had to close it. The plot became interesting and I needed my full attention for it.
"So, BB, what's that book about?" Soap asked, looking down at the book cover.
"Eh...is quite hard to explain the plot really. But there are those murders around the city, only towards kids."
"I bet Elisabeth is the murderer."
"Excuse me?"
"I was bored, started reading over your shoulder like...an hour ago."
"MacTavish doesn't understand intimacy from what I've noticed." Ghost spoke, crossing his arms at his chest.
"Eh...don't mind it too much. But I think he'd prefer reading in from the beginning, not mid story."
"Well in this case I might just borrow it when youre done."
"As much as I am glad that youre talking about a book and not some dumb shit, I need to announce you that we are about the land." Ghost said as he stood up.
We stood up as well, and i put my book in the backpack, fixing my uniform. Out of reflex I checked my hair. Even though I don't want to work with those men, I should still be able to look presentable and respectable, I'm a woman after all.
The helicopter slowly landed, Ghost being the first one to leave the helicopter. We were welcomed by two tall men. They seemed tired, having huge bags under their eyes. Laswell told us something about a mission they had to do a night before.
One of them smiled brightly, looking at the men besides me. He raised his hand, waving to us.
"Mi hombre, mi señora, welcome to Las Almas. I am Alejandro Vargas, this is Rudy. We've got announced about your arrival yesterday. It is a pleasure to meet you." He spoke, fixing his vest.
"The pleasure is ours sir. I am Lieutenant Ghost."
"Sargent Soap, on duty."
"Sargent BB."
He smiled, reaching his hand to Ghost firstly, grabbing his hand firmly, doing the same to Soap as well, followed by a shoulder bump. As he got in front of me i reached my hand as well, but instead he grabbed it gently, kissing my knuckles. Those Mexicans seem to be gentlemen. I gave him a light smile before he let go of my hand, turning around.
"Alright, niños, lets get going to the base. I need to give you some bedrooms and all that." He spoke, walking towards the other man, who was standing in front of a car.
