Chapter XIII
Tunnels and cells

I couldn't remember for how long I was wondering around those houses, but my backpack was now heavy. Not as heavy as my gear vest would be during a normal mission, but heavy enough.

"BB... town's full o' tunnels. One leads out across from the church. Be advised- the tunnel is flooded. Prepare for a cold swim."

"Amazing, I needed to get refreshed anyway."

"You get caught out there, they'll kill you slow..."

"Mercs or the Narcos?"

"Narcos... They'll take videos..."

"I'll give 'em your email so they know where to send them."

"I won't watch 'em... More than once anyway..."

"Sick bastard..."

I kept walking. This part of the city was somehow clear, less corpses, less blood, less terror. I couldn't help myself but feel bad, for Alejandro, for Las Almas, a place that, despite all the issues, welcomed us like it was home.

"Making progress?"

"Aye."

"Two goldfish are in a tank...?"

I remained silent for a second.

"Go on."

"One turns to the other and says... 'You know how to drive this thing?' Little army humor."

"Very little."

"Another?"

"I got one for you..." Soap joined.

"Go for it."

"Why was the strawberry crying?"

"Why?" I asked, still walking around, trying to find my way to the tunnels.

"Because, he was in a jam."

"Not bad."

"Why don't blind guys skydive?" Ghost started again."

"Why?"

"Scares the shit out o' their dogs... "

"I've got one too, boys."

"Why don't shrimp share?" I asked them.

"Why?"

"Because they're a little shellfish."

"Decent enough. We can do this all night."

"Thats what I'm afraid of."

I finally reached the tunnel that was leading to the other side of the city. Thanks God...

It smelled like shit and it was dark as hell, but that'd do.

I took a deep breath, walking in, the water reaching my chest. At the contact with the cold water, my body shivered, making me let out a loud groan.
