Chapter XV
Let get the fuck outta hereCurrently listening to Shakira while writing this. So let's see how they lo de lo de lo de their way out of here
I don't know for how long we waited for them, but I just know the two of us never left the room, nor the alerted state. We were listening carefully for footsteps outside, on the hallway.
Multiple men walked around, but none of them actually walked in the room we were in, so we were good.
"Cariño..." Alejandro whispered, catching my attention. His voice was sad and hurt, making my heart ache.
I turned around, looking at him.
"Yes, Alejandro? Is everything alright?"
He walked up to me, looking down at me. His hand gently cupped my left cheek, caressing my skin with his thumb. I leaned into his touch, closing my eyes.
"I'm sorry. You didn't deserve to go through all that..." He whispered.
"Neither did you...but we aren't going through it anymore. We will leave soon and.."
"But what if we don't? They are hundreds of men. And us? Is just the two of us right now." He was worried, scared. It was the first time I heard and seen him like this. Since we joined them for the mission he always seemed so cheerish and trustful on his own persona. But not now..
"Then we will die fighting."
He sighed, leaned closer to me.
"I don't want to die fighting. Not yet. Mierda...Lilith, I don't want to die before telling you how much I love you."
I looked at him, too surprised to say anything. Of course, I knew he had feelings for me since he was being so lovely and cuddly, but never thought he'd being so forward about them.
But I smiled, leaning even more into his soft touch.
"I love you too, Alejandro." I whispered, looking into his eyes.
And after all he went through, I finally saw them shining with life and happiness. He leaned in, gently pressing his lips against mine, kissing me lightly.
His lips were dry now, but just as sweet as I remembered them to be. The warmth of his body against mine, and his lips brushing mine was feeling divine.
I didn't want this moment to end. Never.
But soon we heard footsteps coming on the hallway, which made us pull away, yet Alejandro holding my hand tightly.
"Do we interrupt anything?" Soaps voice asked, sticking his head inside, giving us a large smile.
I giggled, and Alejandro shook his head, smiling.
"Hermano, it's so good to see you."
Soap, Ghost and Rodolfo walked in, seemed pleased to see us alive. Rodolfo handed Alejandro a M5 rifle and Ghost handed me a M250 automatic rifle. Exactly what I needed to hold, besides Alejandro's hand, after feeling so powerless and hopeless.
