Our story starts where theirs ended. Long ago.
When they fell.
A significant day in history that went unnoticed by humanity.
A group of seven stars, falling towards the earth. Burning up and streak of light trailing behind on their way day.
They landed in the start middle of where all oceans meet. Without a doubt, causing a natural disaster in some or other place but overall not effecting humanity on a large scale.
It wasn't too long until they all washed up on a beach of some uncharted and undiscovered island.
One by one they slowly awoke and dragged themselves further into the island. Disappearing into the tropical vegetation.
However, sooner then later, they found themselves sitting with a group. Silence falling heavily upon them, as thought about and replayed all decisions and events that lead them to where they were now.
"Our wings....are black now," Byeol was the first to break the silence.
His voice was rough. From not having been used for most of the time.
"I...I have an ache. Right here..." Sariel announced after a beat of silence, putting a hand over her stomach," I think it's... hunger. And I'm thirsty. I think."
"It's not. You're not," Uriel said back, emotionlessly, not even looking up at her.
But instead watching as he ran his hands over the still slightly damp and now black feathers of his wings
"But-" Sariel began to argue.
"It's not! It's not possible. We are-" Uriel unexpectedly snapped
"Are we?" Heiran interrupted.
Asking the question no one wanted the answer. Silence, once again, fell over the group as each one seemed to ask themselves that same question.
"What are we?" Nari asked, although she wasn't exactly expecting an answer
So surprise and slight despair was her reaction when she did indeed get one
"We're fallen...we fell from grace," Seung grunted out.
And for a while, again, silence was the reaction.
"Can't we just...go back? Ask for forgiveness? Can't we-" Myung-Ok questioned, the fear and desperation clear in his voice.
"No ...we can't. There is no repentance then forgiveness for us. We are not His oh so favoured creations," Seung interrupted, his face scrunching up, as if he could taste the bitterness in his words," you could say we are His failed attempt before He finally got to beloved humanity. He didn't create us to have free will and redemption. He created us to be perfect. And we weren't. Aren't."
Each one of them, knew deep down, that this was true. They rebelled against their Father's word. In a fashion much like one of the estranged brother.
"We're no better than Lucifer now," Heiran observed
"But...we are not in Hell?" Argued Myung-Ok
"We're not in heaven either. Nor are we angels anymore. I think?" Nari replied
"We aren't," Byeol agreed.
"But we aren't humans either," Uriel added.
"So....what are we?" Sariel asked the question once more.
None of them had the answer. But someone did
"Something new," a voice called out, announcing a new, eighth presence.
All heads snapped to the newcomer
"Speak of the devil and he shall appear," Lucifer replied, making a show of opening his arms wide.
"Brother," six out of seven greeted.
However the seventh simply squinted their eyes suspiciously then asked:
"What are we?" For the third and last time
"Dear Seung, straight to the point aren't we?" Lucifer said, with a over-joyed smirk
"No games, tell us now brother," Seung replied, having no patience for the other fallen angel.
"Sins. You are all sins," Lucifer finally answered
"No," Uriel refused brows furrowing.
"Oh yes," Lucifer sang back.
Uriel felt a hot feeling shot through him at his brother's attitude. Coupled with this whole situation.
"It can't be. One cannot be a sin but rather commits one," Byeol agreed as well.
"Welcome to the new world order I suppose. Did you really think He would just give you the boot and that would be it? The whole punishment? I'll tell you now, our Father is a sadist with a commendable sense irony-" Lucifer lectured, speaking down to all of them , amusement clear in his voice and demeanor.
"Do not speak of Him in such a manner. It's nothing short of blasphemy!" Myung-Ok immediately scolded.
"What's He gonna do? Do tell me? Send me to hell?" Lucifer said back, smirk widening even more.
All seven faces just stared back at him either blankly or irritably.
"I sure do hope you all acquire a sense of humour during your stay here," he muttered to himself, but all heard," it's nice to see you defending Him. Even everything. However I do wonder who will defend you guys to him? Or better yet, if He would defend you too?"
Lucifer chuckled to himself quietly.
"You act fully independent. As if he truly has no authority over you. And yet you are here?" Byeol questioned, lifting a brow.
"...ah. So you think he sent me? To what orientate you? No, Father actually has no qualms of sending you blind into the unknown. No brother. I am here on my own accord. You are the first fallen after me. Only fallen besides me. I wanted to see how you crash and burn. How I must if crashed and burned. I mean what's better than seeing one's own personal experienced trauma happen to others who without a doubt looked down on him?"
Lucifer smiled to himself
"As a parting gift and we'll welcoming gift I shall tell you all your new names."
Lucifer went to Uriel first taking one of his hands in both of his. Holding it earnestly even as Uriel glowered back at him.
"You,dear brother, shall be Greed," Lucifer said then moved on to the next, repeating his actions again and again
"Nari, sister dearest, Sloth."
"Sariel, Lust."
"Byeol, Gluttony.'
"Myung-Ok, Envy."
"Heiran, ever so composed. Ever so Prideful."
Then finally Lucifer got to the seventh. When he tried to hold his hand, said fallen pulled back immediately. Glaring at Lucifer heatedly. Lucifer smiled at the fire ablaze in his brother's eyes. Sure to one day set the whole world one fire.
"Seung....my absolute favourite. You are meant to be...reborn to be Wrath."
