This was all very strange. It just didn't add up. Firstly, that pick-up just appears, then we get shot at and then the truck just speeds of? How on earth could it escape Sara's car? I mean, that thing is one powerful beast. I mean, yeah, we did get into the middle of rush hour but still. I guess they just got lucky. I hated it when the bad guys got lucky because that usually meant we got unlucky and that meant a trouble at work. I didn't like what happened. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

On my way home I put on some music so I could clear my head until I was at home. I hoped that I would remember at least a small detail about what had happened. Just anything that could help us find out more. To go through everything again I needed to be calm which I surely wasn't at the moment. Sara once taught me how to analyse past situations through a meditation like process. It wasn't very difficult but it did require for you to be calm and for you to be able to quickly scan situations, take in all of your surroundings and remember a lot of things in a very short time at the right time. It sounds more difficult than it actually is. It does take some practice though. I'm not sure where she learned it but I've never met anyone that had mastered this skill as perfectly as Sara. She truly was a genius.

But that I already knew. What I didn't know though was what kind of person her new partner was. She couldn't tell me a lot about him but that didn't have to mean that it was useless. From what she told me it was quite clear that he wasn't a very good person or at least very likeable. Maybe that was something I could start with. I did have a few ideas where else I could begin but I knew that I should probably start sooner rather than later. I didn't want to disappoint Sara. She was one of my best friends after all and I knew that she would do everything in her powers to help me so the least I could do was return that favour.
