POV Aiko
Something told me that the other people in the office didn't like me. But to be honest I didn't really care. I actually preferred it that way. The less they liked me the less they were interested in me and what I was doing. That was something I really enjoyed. I mean who wouldn't, right? At least no one pays attention to what you're doing and that's always good.
As usual I had a big pile of reports to work through. Oh how I hated it. But somebody has to do it. I was reading through a mildly interesting report of an older agent who thought he was on to some small part-time criminal but gave it some time to see whether there were going to be more developments or not. It wasn't really on-the-edge-of-your-seat material but it wasn't too boring either. "Miss Michaelis! Would you please meet me in my office? There's something I need to talk to you about." Oh no. Not good. That either meant I was getting a promotion, fired, I would be transferred or maybe I would be just getting praised. But whatever it was it had me scatter my mind everywhere.
I got up and made my way over to the office of the man that just called me there. Mr James Longston. After entering the office, I closed the door behind me and took a seat. To be honest I was so nervous but for the sake of my reputation I had to act cool. Not sure if I succeeded.
POV Benjamin
Once I was home the first thing I did was throwing all my things onto the couch. This was one of the most stressful days I had in a while. Now I had to calm my nerves. I was sure that nothing that happened today happened by chance and I was sure that Sara knew it too. I wondered what her thoughts on this were. I didn't know and for everything that's holy I probably didn't want to know. That woman was special. Not romantically but her whole person, the way she carried herself, how she talked and how she could command an entire room simply by being in it. The way she would always keep a clear head even in the most dangerous situations was astonishing to me. no matter what you threw at her she always knew what to do. People like her are very rare in the world. Something about her reminded me often of the stars from the 50s and 60s. There was just something special about her.
After a little snack I decided to go to bed. that wasn't usually my time but I was so exhausted that it seemed like the right thing to do. It also gave me the time to analyse everything that had happened and things about the crime scene. I spent about an hour maybe an hour and a half going through everything again but that didn't lead me anywhere. At around 9:30pm I decided to just try again the next day. I also wanted to try my hands on the Bite thing. Surely somebody knew him or something about him.
