In the darkness, Kyoko stirred and rubbed her eyes, awoken from more cryptic dreams and fuzzy memories. Annoyed that she felt as if the truth behind her talent and other faded memories were almost surfacing, but not enough to translate into her woken thoughts. She sighed and pulled the covers closer.

"What's going on?" murmured the voice next to her.

"I'm sorry, it wasn't my intention to wake you." She quietly said, gently rolling over to face Byakuya. In the dim light she could see the outline of his face and blonde lashes which were often hidden behind glasses, "I'm alright, just more cryptic dreams."

"It's fine, I was already awake." Byakuya reached his hands out until he found Kyoko's and firmly held onto her fingers. "What were your dreams about?"

Kyoko squeezed his fingers, "I'm not really sure, just really vague memories from when I was younger."

"It doesn't matter if you don't remember anything yet, you're still one of the most useful people here, especially for the trials. As well as me."

"Yeah, you're really inspiring how you constantly increase Makoto's blood pressure during the trials." Kyoko gently laughed before lowering her voice "Why don't you tell everyone, Makoto?".

"I do not sound like that." Byakuya huffed, "He just needs some incentive to speak up when he figures out something."

"I'm just teasing." Kyoko murmured, she paused for a moment and sighed, "I really am trying to get a better grasp on my memories, though."

"I know that. Let's start with what you already remember. What's your earliest memory?" Byakuya asked, gently playing with Kyoko's hair.

There was a pause, "I think it was probably myself and my father spending the afternoon together." Kyoko shrugged, "how about you?"

"Probably being forced to take Latin lessons," he paused, "or maybe it was violin? It was one of those."

"I wish I could say I'm surprised." Kyoko smiled.

There was another pause, before Byakuya spoke. "Kyoko. Is this, I mean you and me," he furrowed his brows and sighed in frustration, "what does this all mean?"

Kyoko smiled, "I don't know."

"I mean, whatever it is. I feel like the others shouldn't be privy to... us, at least not now. It will put us more at risk."

"Not to mention however Toko will react. I can't guarantee Hina doesn't have any thoughts about what she witnessed the other day."

Byakuya let out a groan. "I was trying not to think of that." He sighed, half in annoyance, half in amusement before he pulled Kyoko closer and rested his lips against her forehead.

They lay like that for several minutes, "I can't sleep."

"Me either." Byakuya switched on the light, "we can just talk?"

"I'd like that" Kyoko sat up, hugging her knees. "This really is like a sleepover, it feels surreal."

Byakuya nodded before he reached to the side table to grab his glasses.

"Byakuya?" Kyoko asked, "Can I try on your glasses?"

"Why?" He hesitated, confused.

"I'm just curious. I want to see how you see things. Call it research." She smiled and held out her hand. Byakuya handed her his glasses and watched as she tried them on, "Interesting. I didn't realise you were so blind. How do I look?"

"I wouldn't know," He was surprised to find himself joking so effortlessly, "You'd probably look good in anything."

Kyoko smiled and took off the glasses, gently passing them back, Byakuya put them on and shuffled closer. "That's the first time anyone has asked to try on my glasses."

"Probably because you're too busy alienating everyone you meet." Kyoko said, nudging him, "it's ok. I probably do the same. I'm way too serious most the time for people to really find me approachable."

"I'm glad I met you, though."

Kyoko smiled, "Same here."
