Midnight had come and gone and the doorbell still hadn't rung.

Byakuya turned in his seemingly-too-large bed and sighed, he felt uneasy. He wasn't sure if it was crazy or not to be worried.

He gave in and pulled off the covers, putting on his glasses and pants, he left the room. He had a feeling she was in the library again. He headed up the stairs and peered in through the library doors. Sure enough, Kyoko was sitting down, her head stuck in a book. He made his way over to her.

"Kyoko? What are you doing?"

She rubbed her eyes, closed her book and stood up to face him.

"I'm reading."

"Yes. I can see that. More importantly, why are you reading at two in the morning?"

"I didn't want to be of any more trouble." Kyoko simply stated.

Byakuya was confused, "What? Trouble?"

"I've been trying to locate clues to find my identity. Then I can sleep in my own room and not be a burden to you anymore and erase the suspicions everyone seems to have about me."

Byakuya grabbed her shoulders, "What are you talking about? Burden?"

Kyoko closed her eyes and shrugged. "I've been waking you up at really late hours. I broke my arm and you had to fix that for me."

Byakuya groaned and leaned his head on Kyoko's shoulder, "You're not a burden. If anything, you've made this Hell hole a little less Hellish. I'm the one who's been causing trouble. I've only held onto your key because I enjoyed your company and didn't want you to stop spending time with me."

Byakuya lifted his head and reached into his pocket, pulling out Kyoko's key.

He handed it to an astonished Kyoko.

"What?" She managed to stutter. "You wanted to spend time with me?"

"Yes, no point in denying it now." Byakuya unsuccessfully tried to smirk.

Kyoko was silent, her gaze held questions. Byakuya felt his chest tighten, he reached down and gently took her hands in his own. He stepped forward.

Kyoko looked up at his face, her brow furrowing in confusion.

"What have you done to me?" Byakuya muttered.

"What?" Kyoko started, "What do you mean? What have I—"

Byakuya released her hands and place his hand gently on her shoulders, he leaned in until their faces were centimeters apart, He paused before closing the gap, his lips gently pressed against hers.

Kyoko, completely unresponsive at first slowly raised her good hand to his shoulder and stood on her toes to lean into the kiss.

Byakuya wrapped his arms around her tiny frame and hugged her, holding her close.

Kyoko separated from the kiss to come up for air, she met Byakuya's glance and for the first time, he gave her a sincere smile, which she returned.

"Come on, it's late." Byakuya gently took her hand and started walking, "I don't care what your ultimate talent is, you need to sleep. You haven't been getting enough rest."

He lead her down the stairs and to his room and unlocked his door, "I've gotten quite used to you sleeping beside me."

"Likewise."

He let her in, "You can sleep in your own room if you wish, I won't stop you."

"I think that would feel rather lonely." Kyoko removed the sling from her arm and removed her boots and socks.

Kyoko climbed into the bed and pulled the covers over her. The light switched off and Byakuya joined her.

"Kyoko."

"Yes?"

"Would you maybe like to cuddle once again?"

He heard no response but soon felt her wrapping her arms around him. He smiled and wrapped his arms around her.

They were both content in each other's arms.

"Kyoko."

"Yes?"

"...Would you maybe like to try that kiss once again?"

He heard Kyoko softly giggle into his shoulder, he brought his hands to her face and she looked up at his face in the dim light. He leaned in and gently kissed her again.

He parted with her, "What have you done to me, Kyoko?" He followed the sentence with a short laugh.

"I could ask you the same thing."

Byakuya smiled and pulled Kyoko in for a hug, both of them falling asleep in the others arms.
