It was nearly midnight.

Byakuya lay awake, waiting for the doorbell to ring.

He waited, an hour passed, then another hour. He hated to admit he was actually worried. He stood up and put on his glasses. He grabbed his pants and put them on, not bothering to find his jacket or tie.

He opened the door and walked into the hall. He started looking around for Kyoko, He couldn't find her on the first floor, and so he headed up to the second. He opened the door to the library and peered inside. He saw Kyoko asleep surround by a pile of books.

He walked over to her and moved the books off her lap.

"Silly girl." He muttered before picking her up and carrying her downstairs.

He gently laid her in his bed, pulling the covers up around her. He turned off the light and got in also.

The Monokuma announcement woke them both up, Kyoko yawned and rubbed her eyes. She looked around in confusion.

"How did I?"

"You were asleep in the library. A violation against school rules and also leaves you vulnerable if someone decides to commit murder."

"You carried me here?"

"Obviously."

"Thanks." Kyoko pulled herself into a sitting position, "you really don't have to do all this for me. I can't help but feel there might be an ulterior motive to your favours."

"Hmph."

"I'm going to make some coffee." Kyoko walked to the door, she looked back at Byakuya and gave him a small smile. "See you later." She left and closed the door behind her.

Byakuya just sat down in bewilderment, she only smiled at him, and yet, this tiny action sent shivers down his spine.

"This is not good." Byakuya muttered to himself, "Not good at all."

Byakuya lay on his bed, the scent of lavender still lingered. He reached into his pocket and pulled out her room key, he turned it in his fingers. He wondered if he should just return in and be done with her. But he had become attached to the warmth of her in his bed and he enjoyed getting to understand her more and more. He twirled the key around. He wasn't sure if it was cruel keeping the key. Initially he had only held onto it because he thought she could be a threat and seemed too suspicious, but now he only held onto due to his stubbornness and out of his own selfish desire to keep her close by.

He stuffed the key back in his pocket and closed his eyes. This is crazy, He thought, Why do I like her so much? She's not even from a notable lineage. Do I even care about status anymore? What is she doing to me?

Byakuya groaned. He hated this and wasn't sure what he was feeling. He felt tugging at his chest whenever they would catch each others gaze. The night they snuggled together was the best sleep he's ever had and her calm demeanor was just so alluring to him, he didn't like loud people, he found that the louder the person, the less important things they had to say. Kyoko wasn't much of a talker, but each word she uttered, he clung to.

"Oh God," Byakuya mumbled, he most certainly liked her. And worst of all, he didn't think that the feeling was mutual. He felt completely at her mercy, completely inadequate, a feeling he'd never experienced before.

He considered asking for advice from someone, but he quickly shook the idea, deciding he'd rather die than ask anyone here for advice.

Kyoko explored the shelves in the library, looking for anything that might seem relevant for her, she was a fast reader, but didn't feel she had the time to read every book in the library to find the answer for something that might not even be there. She pulled out several books and sat down, opening one and scoured through the pages.
