Although they have their own history of a drunken night sexual encounter where Jharrell was serviced by Tyson, nothing else ever came of it. Tyson knew that one night of being drunk with the father of his niece that was the uncle to his other niece, was a thing he did out of lust and not something that either of them would have done without being drunk.

Tyson found Jharrell extremely handsome and knew all about his experience with another man while he was locked up as a teenager. Jharrell's jail time homosexual relationship or "gay-for-protection" was a basic survival decision that a young man made when he was faced with multiple horrible outcomes.

Tyson just had a way of getting people to talk about things that they wouldn't normally admit to. Jharrell told Tyson about how he's been earning extra cash and Tyson simply told him to be careful and that he wouldn't judge him about it.

.

After they ordered their meals, Tyson asked what Jharrell wanted to speak to him about. When Jharrell said it had to do with the "thing Curtis did to you," Tyson said that he didn't want to speak about that around other people. Jharrell agreed and they asked for they meals "to go" instead. On they drive back Jharrell decided to start the decision with Tyson.
