"Who don't you need anymore...?"
I turned around to see Matt.
"Hailey? What's wrong?"
"Nothing. OKAY? Nothing is wrong! Can you just leave me alone for one damn minute!?" I yelled at him and regretted it the minute I realized what I just did.
"Wait no, Matt im sorry I didn't-"
"Hailey, I've been trying to make you happy and help you out. Heck we've never met in person until two days ago and it was because you were RUNNING FROM HOME! I get it, you're upset. But listen if you want help you have to let me in. If you let me in and push me away again, then I can't change anything!" Matt says back.
"You don't get it. That's the thing. You can't help, there's no way to fix it. If anything maybe you should let me think about it for once to get it over with! Maybe I'm better off being alone instead of surrounded by you and your brothers' absolute nonsense and happiness. BECAUSE THAT'S NOT ME! I'm not always happy. You aren't either, I know, okay?! But I'm not going to try to pretend I'm happy when I'm not, when I know there's nothing you can do about anything! You're just there. That's it! So stop trying to save something that isn't worth saving!" I yelled at him. I've lost it. I've honestly lost it. My world has come crashing down the past few days. The Sturniolos and Alissa may have pushed it away for a minute, but that's all.
"Hailey. You really think that after eight fucking years, I'm not here for you? I'm just in the background of Hailey's little world. Of course. You know the least you could have done was let me care about you. But sure, have your space." He said in a hurt and angry voice as he went back into the house, leaving me outside.
Alissa's POV:
I heard yelling outside and then a door slam.
"BUT SURE, HAVE YOUR SPACE." Matt semi yelled angrily as I realized he was the one who slammed the door.
"Okay, what the hell...?" I said.
"Bro, you good?" Chris said from next to me.
"No I'm not fucking good. I'm a useless piece of shit apparently so, if you'll excuse me. I'm heading home, have Alissa bring you guys home." Matt said, grabbing his keys and storming out the house.
Matt's POV:
Okay I may be overreacting just a little bit, but she didn't have to fucking yell and I'm just pissed now.
I took my phone out and started scrolling through my contacts, trying to find someone to talk to. I might miss my turn but whatever.
Damn it. Okay, I'll just call Chris. I'm sure. He'll talk to me. He'll tell me I'm just being a dick and that if I go apologize it'll all be okay. I just feel hurt that she said I can't help. I get that I can't change the past, but there's always the future and we can always change that. Maybe I'm just an actual asshole.
"Hello?" Chris answered my call finally. "Hailey and I had a fight."
"WHAT!? You never have fights!" He yelled into the phone hurting my ears.
"Matt you asshole, go apologize she just lost the last of her family!" I heard Alissa yell from the other end.
"Wait what!?" Chris and I both said at the same time.
"Uhh. Nothing bye boys! Shit." She said on the other end of the phone and I assume she was running.
"Is she on the phone with Hailey right now?" I asked through the phone.
"Looks like it."
"Shit. Im an absolute asshole she's struggling and I fucking messed it up." I said and hung up before Chris could respond.
