A boy sat there on the land at the edge of the sea, gutting a fish his father had just caught. His father was behind him, trying to catch more. It was quiet except for the sound of rushing water. It was nice, relaxing. Then the shouts of tribesmen startled them, causing them to look up towards the cliff, where others where shouting and pointing out towards the sea. "It's coming! Run!" They yelled, causing the boy to turn to look back at his father. "Father!" He yelled. "Run." He simply said, before a Deviant came upon shore, eating him whole.
The Deviant screamed, walking towards the child. The child fell backwards in fear. But before the Deviant could do anything, beams were shot at it from high above, sending it skidding backwards towards the water once again. The boy looked back, knife still in hand, to see two people flying down, four others already standing. Ikaris shot his beams at the Deviant again as it roared. It started flying towards him, he towards it, causing them to take this fight up into the air, as Aya landed down onto the ground beside some of the others. A Deviant was coming up behind the boy, and Makkari sped the boy out of the way as Aya sent golden vibration waves out of her hands, sending the monster back into the rocks it had just crawled on. The monster recovered, and started climbing back up the rocks, towards where Makkari took the boy. Aya flew up and landed beside her, and they nodded towards each other, silent communication going between them like their minds were connected. Both of them started speeding the people out of the monster's path as it tried to eat each of them. As they were doing this, Kingo came in with his cosmic energy projection (pew pew fingers XD) and shot at the Deviant as Makkari sped back around and sent a sonic burst into the Deviant. Kingo created an energy sphere in his hands, and sent it straight into the monster making it fall back off the cliff and onto the rocks below, killing it.
He turned to sign to Makkari. "Good fight." He said.
"You, too." She signed back, before running off to continue to help Aya with the evacuation of the people. When Makkari reached Aya, she saw a Deviant standing in front of her. Aya was standing in front of a group of children, all scared. She gestures for the kids to cover their ears then she turns around, towards the Deviant. She throws her hands in front of her, and screams. An ear piercing scream releases through the air, releasing vibrational waves towards the Deviant. Aya used her hands to direct the sound waves. The Deviant goes flying backwards, already dead from the scream alone. Her hair flew around her, creating a halo around her head.
Makkari walked over to her and tapped on her shoulder, telling her to stop. She stopped, adjusting her stance. Aya looked over at Makkari confused. "It's gone." Makkari signed.
Aya looked back and saw that it had landed in the ocean. Her scream had sent it far. "Sorry." Aya signed back. "It was going after the children."
Makkari nodded and smiled. "There's no need to apologize." Makkari signed back. "You did what you felt was right." Makkari grabbed Aya's hand and sped them over to the rest of the Eternals, who were coming down from their ship, the Domo. They stopped next to Druig, who was mind controlling the people there to drop their weapons and trust them. The three then split up. They formed a line, starting with Kingo, Makkari, Gilgamesh, Thena, Ikaris, Ajak the leader, Aya, Sersi, Sprite, Phastos, and Druig.
The boy Makkari had saved before started walking forward wearily, an old woman behind him pushing him forward encouragingly. Sersi stepped forward, up next to Ajak, and Ajak nods. Sersi continues forward, and stoops to pick up the knife that he had dropped when the whole crazy situation had started. She uses her powers to turn it into a beautiful gold and blue knife, holding it out for the boy, sharp point faced towards her as a sign of peace. She nods towards the boy, signaling that it was okay. They meet in the middle of the two groups, Sersi holding her hand out more for the boy to grab the blade. He hesitantly does. As he does this, Aya hears a whisper in her ear. "That was an entertaining fight to watch." She turns to find Druig at her back, placing the voice as his. "You did well." He praised, never once looking at her. To Aya, his voice had this weird, but comforting accent that she just couldn't place.
"Thank you." She responded quietly, before turning back around to watch as Sersi and the boy interacted. She smiled, happy at this interaction with man-kind. But that wasn't the only reason for her smile. She was smiling because she had finally talked to the quiet man behind her. The mysterious Druig.
Little did she know that he was doing the same.
