(Author: This chapter will definitely be shorter than most chapters here will be due to the fact this is supposed to just show the reader how life is at home for Donnie and his brothers!)

After school ended, Donatello felt like a punching bag whenever his friends and family weren't around. In fact he was. The sporty guys didn't like him much, didn't concern him much though. He walked to the public bus after twenty minutes with his brothers, all bruised and patched up, and held onto the strap above him in the nearly empty bus. He hopped off after it ended and walked the rest of the way home, where he stepped inside his room and dropped new stolen equipment from his computer science class and chemistry. He tampered with the items for a long while, eventually making a small device which made a hologram. Sliding it to the side and marking it as 'Ready', he got up and walked to the kitchen. Splinter wasn't home yet from work and now wouldn't often be, he'd be working late shifts from now on to get enough money for the turtles. Donnie washed what little dishes they had and put them away neatly, then took out four ramen noodles packets, placing them in four individual bowls and filling them with water before placing them individually in the microwave for three minutes. He then opened the smaller packet slowly and stirred the beef seasonings through the noodles. Adding some small chunks of cooked chicken, he placed the bowls at each chair at the table and called down for his brothers to come and eat. Michelangelo came down the quickest, dashing into his wooden chair that creaked. Leo and Raph came walking down the stairs as well, sitting down with etiquette.

"Itadakimasu." They all said in unison, bowing with their hands clapped together before grabbing chopsticks to slurp down the warm food.

Ramen was a delicious microwavable dish, but it often became bland the more times it became repetitive. He liked to say that his favorite flavor of Ramen was the 'Broke as fuck' flavor.

"Did anyone finish unpacking, or their homework yet?" Donnie asked, breaking the ice at the silent table. Mikey took a break from inhaling his food to look at the clad turtle.

"I finished unpacking but homework not so much."
The others nodded their heads as to agree.

"I can do them for you, just hand me the papers after you all take a quick shower."  Donnie said, grabbing his empty plate and placing it in the sink right behind the table. Everyone nodded once again.

Leo stood up and did the same, after everyone finished he took everyones dirty bowls and chopsticks and began to clean the sink. Raph took everyones dirty laundry and began washing them, and Mikey started to unpack Splinter's stuff and then take out the trash. Everyone took a part in this family to help their father, and had known how to take care of themselves.

A knock on the door alarmed Leo, who was so focused in the dishes that he hardly noticed, and called Donatello out from his room. Coming out, came the turtle in purple with a handful of technical equipment. He struggled to open the door, and exchanged a few words with the guy that stood outside. He gave the guy the tech and the guy gave him $75 bucks. His hands ached, so he cracked his knuckles. Donnie grabbed his brothers homework off the table and sat down on the couch beside the door, writing down answers on the table there.

For hours the four turtles did work around the brown and beige house, though not much could be done about the torn wallpaper and collapsing roofs. All they knew is that tonight was going to be cold without heat. Thrilling. Just thrilling.

Soon it was far past three in the morning, Splinter came in with oil on his hands and shirt. Donnie lay passed out on the living room couch with Raph on the other one. Mikey and Leo slept on a mattress in the center of the room, nobody had beds in their rooms quite yet. Donnie would have to fix the broken floor tiles for that. So for now it just held their stuff.

Splinter took some blankets from out of his plastic bag, and draped some warm, fuzzy blankets with puppies on them over each of his sons, sitting down at the dinner table with a bowl of ramen.

This family may have been poor in their new home, but at least they had each other. They all found ways to work around their problems and issues. Because family is the most important thing to these turtles. So they were going to be grateful for what they got.
