Seven-Eleven

Shin x reader

This is my first time writing his character. So, he's probably not that in character.

Y/ns POV

"Hey, y/n we need some more microwaveable dinners and milk." My roommate yelled from the kitchen.
"I'm not going to the store at 9pm." I yelled back.
"Can't you go to seven-eleven. They have that stuff right?!"
"Why don't you go?!"
"I'm sick!"
"Since when?!"
"10 seconds ago!"

I sighed and got up to walk to seven-eleven. It wasn't that far, a little less than a mile. When I got there it was almost 10pm. When I walked in the bell connected to the door dung.
"Welcome in." A teal haired guy said without looking up from his phone. He was obviously working here. Actually the only one on shift right now.

I went to the cold drinks section to get milk. Then I went and got the microwavable dinners. When I returned to the counter the guy didn't look up. After a couple of seconds I said,
"Um, hello?" His head shot up immediately.
He cleared his throat,
"Sorry, not used to there being people at this hour." He began to scan my items.
I noticed his name tag.
"Shin." I mumbled, but he heard.
"Yep, that's my name. Pretty basic." He awkwardly chuckled.
"I think it's cool." I said.
"Thanks."

"That will be $8.99." He told me. I handed him the money. He handed me my change. Once I had the change I dropped it in the tip jar.
"Have a good night." He said.
"Yeah, you too."

While I was leaving something caught my eye. A 'we're hiring' sign.
As I was walking home I thought about it. I needed a job now even if it's temporary. I decided I would apply for the job.

I was able to start a week and a half later.
When I walked in I saw shin, the teal haired guy.
"So you're the new employee. I remember you from a couple weeks ago." He said with a smile.
"Oh yeah, I'm y/n."
"Okay y/n, I'll show you the basics."
He showed me how to do the basics.

Time skip thing

It has been a few weeks of working at seven-eleven and I've enjoyed it for the most part so far. The best part was probably working with shin. Turns out he was incredibly nice and funny. We got along well.

I was working a night shift with shin. Nobody had come in for hours.
"I know there usually isn't that many people at night, but doesn't this seem weird?" I asked.
"Yeah, there's a concert near here so no ones going to go to seven-eleven until it ends. Which is after we close at 2:30am."
He continued doing whatever on his phone.

I started restocking the lottery tickets.
"So, y/n," shin paused as he seemed hesitant, "Are you dating anyone?"
I laughed,
"It's cute when you try to be subtle. Also to answer your question, no I'm not."
He seemed kinda embarrassed so he didn't say anything.
We continued doing our things.

He eventually said something,
"So, if that's the case do you want to go on a date with me?" He asked. I wasn't expecting him to actually ask that.

"Hmm." I didn't know how to respond.
He began to panic from my delayed answer.
"It's alright if you don't!" He tried to tell me.
"Okay, I'll go on a date with you." I smiled at him. His face lit up quickly.
"Thank you!"

We began to plan this date. After a couple more hours of doing literally nothing, it was time to close and leave.

In the dark parking lot shin said,
"Do you walk home?"
"Yeah but it's not very far."
"Still do you want a ride home?"
"No thanks I think I'm good."

I was about to walk away but then decided to do something brave. I got closer to shin and kissed him on the cheek.
"Good night shin." I walked of leaving him slightly confused.
