A week had passed since I went back with Grayson, and I had talked to my parents, telling them I was okay and enjoying myself. Mom asked about Roger, and it had suddenly hit me that I was in the same palace he was in. Once I had gotten off the phone, I had begged Grayson to let me see him, but he said it was to dangerous, and that roger wasn't yet able to control himself. I had argued with him, telling him that Preston could go with me and wouldn't let anything happen to me. My stubborn, and slightly overprotective mate, hadn't budged. So, I sat in his office, glaring at him as he sorted through papers, ignoring my gaze. "This is ridiculous, Grayson. Why do I have to sit in here and watch you do paperwork all day?"

He continued reading a paper, his tone nonchalant, as he replied, "Because, I know you. The moment I let you leave, you'll go find Preston or Emma, and they'll take you to see Roger."

I rolled my eyes. "Preston and Emma are perfectly capable of keeping me safe. Roger wouldn't intentionally hurt me either." I argued, huffing as he didn't reply. "You can't keep me prisoner in here, it's not right." I mumbled, leaning back in the uncomfortable chair I sat it across from him.

He didn't reply again, laying the paper down in his hand, only to pick up another and quickly scan over the words.

I rolled my eyes again, huffing and stood from the chair. I hid a smirk as an idea flashed through my mind, making my way to Grayson, wrapping my arms around him from behind. "Baby, please?" I whined, pressing a kiss to the skin below his ear.

"No, Grace. Don't start, it isn't going to work." he drawled out, writing something in Latin on the paper in front of him.

"You take me then." I said, my voice still pouty.

He sighed, sitting the paper down and dropping his pen. "Baby, I have work to do. If you'll wait, I'll take you once I get done for the day."

Any other time, I would've taken that as a win and agree. But I hadn't seen Roger in weeks, and I had missed him. I whined, pressing my face into his neck. "Graysonnnn, please. Just take me for like 10 minutes. You're just filling out paperwork. I'll help catch you up once we get back."

"Grace, you don't know Latin, Baby." he replied, his tone beginning to grow annoyed.

Since he couldn't see my face, I smirked, knowing I was close to breaking him. "Can't we just do it in English for a change?" He didn't reply. "Come on, Grayson. Please."

Finally, he sighed once again, undoing my arms from around him, and stood. "10 minutes. Come on."

I bit my lip and nodded, following after him. He pulled his phone out his pocket as we started down the stairs, calling Preston and telling him to meet us at the servants kitchen with Roger. He slid his phone back in his pocket, his arm going around me, as he led me to the other side of palace. We walked through a door, coming into a large living room. It was similar to the living room in mine and Grayson's quarters, just not as extravagant. We walked through, a couple vampires bowing their heads in respect as we passed. Grayson led me into the large kitchen, tightening his hold around my waist as we moved into Rogers view.

He looked good, better than he had looked. His blonde hair was still long, and shined in the light. His eyes widened as he saw me, bracing himself against the counter, seemingly in shock. "Grace? You're here?" he asked, quickly running his eyes over me. "Are you okay, Honey?" he asked, confused.

I nodded, smiling at him. "Yeah, I'm fine, Uncle Rog. How are you?" I asked, lacing my fingers with Grayson's.

Roger smiled, nodding, "I'm fine, Hun. This whole...experience has been hard. But I'm okay, Hun."

"I'm glad you're okay. Mom misses you. She wanted me to check on you for her." I said, taking a seat at the counter, Grayson's arm never leaving me.

Rogers eyebrows furrowed. "Caroline, does she know...what I am?"
