They were walking down the stairs to meet aai and Baba.
"Dekha maine kaha tha ke aagle baar tumhe tumhara sanki baba ke samne se le kar jayega."
"Kab kaha tha?" She asked.
"Uss din jab mai window se aaya."
"Aisa kuch nahi kaha tha tumhe."
"Kaha tha! aur maine ye bhi kaha tha ke maine bina kuch kiye bed thod Diya ye baat bhi kisi ko nahi batana."
"Matlab?"
"Arre I'm famous for breaking beds but not without doing anything. You know what i mean"
"Raghav!" She hit his chest lightly. He smiled.
Then they both went to aai Baba's room. He stood behind as she went to meet them
"Pallu aa gayi! Arre wah bohot sundar dikh rahi hai." Aai caressed her face. She bent to touch their feet. Aai gave her a rose and then even baba gave her a rose.
She turned her head slightly staring at him. She knew it was his idea. He smiled standing at a distance.
"Janam din ki bohot saari subh kamnaye!" Baba wished.
"Happy birthday pallavi!" Aai hugged her.
"Ab ja din bhar ghum ke aa." Aai said.
"Kyu mujhe sab bhagane ke peche pade hai?"
"Arre Aaj Tera din hai. Jo chahe wo kar." Baba said.
"Mujhe Shanti se ghar baithna hai."
"Ye chhod ke kuch bhi kar." Aai Said.
"Ye mai kar bhi nahi sakti nahi toh raghav kha jayega mujhe." They laughed. When she turned to go outside aai noticed her saree's plates were uneven.
"Pallu Teri saree neeche se upar hai, idhar aa mai theek karti hu."
"Rehne do aai, mai karta hai." He said and sat down to rearrange her plates.
"Dekho kisi ne dekh liye toh bolenge Raghav Rao biwi ke samne jhuk gaya." She whispered in tone of mirth.
"Bolne do, mai bolta hu issa ek insaan mere samne lao jo aapni biwi ke samne jhuka na ho. Aur agar biwi tumhare jitna khoobsurat ho toh kon nahi jhukega." He smiled staring directly in her eyes.
"Pehle aise typical pati jaisi line bolte ho aur phir aisi cheesy baat kar ke embarrass karte ho." They both were standing in middle of the house while aai and Baba were standing at the door frame of their room.
"Inn dono ko dekh kar lagta hai mai kitna galat tha." Vijay said.
"Mujhe pehle si hi pata tha ke dono ek dusre ke liye hi Bane hai. Kabhi kabhi jo hota hai wo hone dena chahiye, kyuki wo acche ke liye hi hota hai. Jo Raghav Rao kisi ke samne nahi jhukta tha wo aaj meri beti ke samne jhuke ke uski saree adjust kar raha hai." Aai said.
"Humari beti." Vijay corrected him.
"Tab kaha gayi thi humari beti jab aadi raat ko usse Ghar ke bahar kar diya tha." She thought to herself.
"Kuch kaha?" Vijay asked.
"Kuch nahi." Aai said smiling.
"Ha ye upar se neeche pull Karo." She ordered. He stared into her eyes.
"I mean... please."
"Hmm, tumhara birthday isliye ye sab seh Raha hai." He said coldly.
"Nahi toh tum nahi karte na, ghamandi rao!" She huffed.
