AUTHORS NOTE: I changed the girls age to 17 instead of 13 to fit in with the theme.

CHAPTER 1: A New World

Los Angeles 2019

In a deserted middle school playground, an overhead plane roars over a group of three girls. Two of the girls were gathered around the girl holding an ornamental gold box covered in strange marking and embossed with three multicolored gems.

Marcy: "C'mon Anne open the box, what's the worst that could happen."

Sasha: "If there is any gold inside, I got dibs."

Marcy: "Sasha if there is any gold inside, I'm pretty sure the box would have not been on a shelf in a thrift store."

Anne: "I don't know Marcy. I already feel bad that I stole this thing."

Sasha: "(Picks up the price tag) Anne, they got this thing going for fifty cents. I think we are good, plus if there is nothing in that box then we can sell those gems at the pawn shop down the road."

Anne: "I still don't know. I mean, I'm missing my party."

Sasha: "Anne (grabbing her shoulders) it is your 17th birthday you should be living it up and yet here you are moping around about your parents lame party, you're like me in the morning without my coffee."

Anne was already used to Sasha acting this way; she was the queen back at their high school and she always got her way.

Anne: "Yeah I guess you're right."

Sasha: "Of course I'm right now open the box! End of Discussion."

Marcy: "YEAH let's see what's inside this thing."

Anne: "Okay here goes."

Anne then opens the box and bolts of pink, blue, and green shoot out of the box charging the air around them.

Marcy and Anne: "WHAT THE?!"

Sasha: "HELL?!"

The three girls are then pulled through a wormhole while clinging on to each other's hands, but Anne and Marcy lose their grip on Sasha, and she falls away from them.

Anne and Marcy: "SASHA!!"

Sasha: "GIRLS!"

They then lose sight of Sasha in the wormhole and the two are faced with blinding white light which causes them both to shut their eyes.

When they opened their eyes, they found that they had landed in a lush green landscape surrounded by green ferns and oak trees.

Anne: "(GASPS) OH MY GOD what just happened?!"

She looked around at her surroundings

Anne: "(Shouting) MARCY! SASHA! Where are you?!"

A voice called out a few feet away.

Marcy: "I'm here. I'm here."

Anne saw that Marcy was emerging from some bushes and ran up to her.

Anne: "I thought I lost you."

Marcy: "I'm ok. I'm ok."

Anne: "Everything is not okay. Where are we?"

Marcy: "I'm not sure it looks a lot like a forest you would see in the Eastern United States (she thought to herself maybe the box didn't work.)"

Their thoughts were interrupted when they heard two male voices nearby which caused them both to hide in the same bush Marcy came out of.

Voice: "I'm telling you John we have to start making more money for provisions I can't take any more slop that Pearson cooks up."

Other voice: "Well maybe if you didn't spend all your time drinking with Charles and Javier you would have some money to give to the camp box."

Anne asked Marcy in a hushed tone,

"What do we do?"

Marcy: "I don't know."

She then paused and looked concerned at something in Anne's hair

Marcy: "Now Anne don't freak out but there is a frog in your hair."

Anne: "WHAT?"

She then ran out of the bush screaming

Anne: "GET IT OFF GET IT OFF"

Marcy ran after her and said, "Anne wait!"

But it was too late. A man wearing a blue shirt and cowboy hat with a mask pulled up over his face was pointing a revolver at them.

Blue Shirt man: "Now look at what we have here. Two girls lost in the forest."

Anne and Marcy stopped, and the frog jumped out of Anne's hair.

Blue shirt Man "That's what you were in such a fuss about a little frog" he laughed.

Anne felt her face go red.

Blue shirt man: "Now tell me what y'all are doing out here near our camp?"

Anne: "We're sorry we didn't know."

Anne then took the masked man's voice into consideration and realized

Anne: "Hey wait a minute Marcy doesn't he look a bit familiar?"

Marcy then realized it too

Marcy: "Hey, yeah. Aren't you?"

She could not finish her sentence because the other man snuck up behind them and hit her in the back of her head with a branch.

Anne: "MARCY!"

Was all that she could say before she felt herself get knocked out to the last thing she heard was

Blue shirt man: "What the hell did you do that for Marston?"

(Authors note: I know the first chapter is short and don't worry about Anne and Marcy they are not to be harmed. I am not a fully accomplished author but any positive feedback and likes are much appreciated.)
