"He had to have a flaw"

We enter Laura's bedroom. Laura is on her bed, whilst Ellie is on a blowup bed on the floor.

Laura: "How are you doing?"

Ellie: "Honestly, just numb."

Laura: "Makes sense, what are you gonna do?"

Ellie: "I don't have a clue i'm just, living in the moment a little more and just appreciating life, like, i can breath, i can talk to you, i can touch things... This can be taken at any minute, and some psycho... Took my parents away." *sobs*

Laura: "Hey, come here *she edges closer to her and puts arm around her*, you're here right now, OK? You are safe, and your parents will live on through you, yano?"

Ellie: "Yeah maybe, i guess so, yeah. Everything is just, moving around me, i just need time to stand still"

Laura: "Yeah i get that sometimes."

Ellie: "Fuck i just hope Ben is OK. What even happened?"

Laura: "Was just some Reporter, sticking his nose in your business and he was sticking up for you, and then it all kicked off"

Ellie: "What, he just snapped at him?"

Laura: "Yep"

Ellie: "That's just... *she catches herself a little*, so out of character for him, don't you think?"

Laura: "We never really know what someone is like at the end of the day, we all react differently to things, he was just being protective i guess"

Ellie: "He's just never struck me as the violent type really"

Laura: "No? I don't think he is personally"

Ellie: "Was it scary?"

Laura: "A little, everyone was just on edge at the time so i guess he just snapped"

Ellie: "How long did it take for him to get to that point?"

Laura: "Not too long, we were only there for maybe a minute before the news guy pulled up"

Ellie: "And just like that he went for him?"

Laura: "There was a little back and forth but yeah it wasn't a huge push he needed to hit him"

Ellie: "Huh, right. Do you think he'll be let off?"

Laura: "Maybe, maybe just a caution? I'm not really wise to these things so I couldn't say"

Ellie: "Yeah, hopefully he's out tonight *message pops up*, oh it's Jane... She said we're back in tomorrow? We're in early apparently for a special meeting?"

Laura: "How early?"

Ellie: "5am... I'll call her"

Laura: "OK, that's like, super early"

Ellie: "Yep... i'll make sure it's not a typo *rings*...*line ends*. Huh?"

Laura: "Not going through"

*tries again*

*Call doesn't go through.*

Ellie: "Hang on she's texted, it says 'sorry, can't call, today has really crushed me so i'm getting an early night, see you tomorrow'"

Laura: "Okay that's fair enough i guess... I think we should do the same, it's past midnight"

Ellie: "Yeah sure *Turns over*"

Laura: "I'm setting an alarm now... Done... Night"

Ellie: "Alright, Night"

Ellie seems restless and twitchy, whilst Laura seems composed and comfortable.

The camera pans out to the back garden of Laura's house.
