Iwaizumi's last few months had been the best he had ever experienced. He went on dates with a kind lady, and his work according to his supervisor was "outstanding."
February had begun and he and Himari had begun making plans. They were going to stay in, make some valentine's love, watch cheesy rom coms, and snack on treats all day. He also had another secret plan.. He was going to ask Himari to be his girlfriend. It all sounded perfect to him, but he couldn't help feeling a bit nervous in the pit of his stomach. It was easy enough to ignore however, and so he focused on his work.
The day before valentines was upon him almost quicker than he was comfortable with, and he ran around his already spotless home, trying to find something to clean, something to make more appealing.
Ring, ring, ring.. Iwaizumi leapt to his feet and grabbed his new phone off of the coffee table, picking it up to see who it was. It was Himari.
He broke into a sweat and answered with a nervous voice. Why would she be calling right now? Did something happen? Would she still be able to come over?
"Hey there 'Chiyo, what's up? Iwaizumi asked in the most casual voice he knew.
"There's.. There's something I need to tell you, Hajime." his heart sped up and he ran his fingers through his hair nervously.
"Fire away." He responded, struggling to keep his voice relaxed.
"I just…" There was a long stressful pause. "I love you and I can't wait for tomorrow. Do you have everything ready?" Iwaizumi let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding.
"Of course I do, everything's perfect. Don't scare me like that!" he laughed, relieved.
There was a quick laugh from the other end. "Sorry honey, just checking in. Bye bye!" and she hung up.
Iwaizumi leaned back in his chair, finally feeling as if it would be okay. Her voice really did calm him.
Iwaizumi opened his eyes and immediately jumped out of bed. He knew what day it was from the second he started gaining consciousness.
He took ten minutes- twice as long as usual- to get dressed. He wore something nice.. but not too fancy.
He rushed downstairs then, and immediately began cooking up a really nice breakfast, with eggs, bacon, pancakes, the works.
He was just serving them onto plates when the doorbell rang, and he ran to open it. There stood Himari. Iwaizumi noticed that she wasn't wearing anything remotely out of the usual, but she looked stunning to Iwaizumi regardless.
He leaned down to kiss her cheek, but instead of reciprocating, she wrapped her arms around him in a gentle hug.
"I made breakfast Chiyo." Iwaizumi smiled and led her inside after she had taken off her shoes.
"Thank you Hajime." She said quietly with a soft smile. Iwaizumi had to admit, her behaviour was a little.. off.
The two of them sat down and began to eat. Himari thanked Iwaizumi for the food, but didn't eat very much.
"So Chiyo, after this what would you like to do?" Iwaizumi asked. Chiyo opened her mouth, but Iwaizumi interrupted her with a small smile and a quiet tone. "Cause I know I want to do..." He placed his hand on her thigh lightly, but Himari pushed it off and spoke quietly.
