The Host

Chapter 5

Randy is still furious at Ian.
"Randy is right, no more violence until the Seekers come," Mike says. "And no one is allowed to offend Logan and Wanda."
"But they're Souls," Randy says.
"Logan is still in there," Melanie says.
"Logan isn't in it," Randy snaps.

"There are no it's! It's either 'he' or 'she'," Logan demands.
"I don't give a shit," Randy says.
I pick up my glass of water, Logan is drinking it and seems to like it, so we both finish our water. Randy grins evily. I bet something is going - SHIT! I CAN'T BREATHE!

I grab the table, Logan does the same. I keep on gasping for air, then I can't fight it anymore. I faint and close my eyes. I hear someone scream.

Melanie's POV

Logan and Wanda just passed out, or died! Ian gets really angry at Randy, shoves him off of his feet and continuously punches Randy. Randy screams. Doc rushes to Wanda and another doctor goes to Logan.

Doc does CPR on Wanda.
"Come on, wake up," I beg.
Some girl gives Doc a bottle of blue liquid and gives one to the other doctor. We stare at her because we don't know what could happen.
"It helps," she says.
The doctor gives the medicine to Logan, this might not be good.

Logan wakes up instantly, gasping.
"Give her some!" I scream at Doc.
He does, Wanda wakes up and gasps for air. She looks at Logan and he looks at her and smiles. They know something that we don't or they're starting to have feelings for each other.

Wanda's POV

While I was "dead", I saw something from my past and found out something quite interesting. Logan and Randy are my brothers, but Logan is more of a brother than Randy. I can tell by the way Logan looks at me, he knows too. Randy gives me a look, he can't be our brother, he's human.
Randy's face is the colour of Ian's knuckles. "Are you okay?" Melanie asks.
"Yeah, I don't think he likes me," I joke.
She laughs. "I don't think so. And what's up with you and Logan?"
I look at Logan, he shakes his head and I look back at Melanie.

"Nothing," I respond.
Ian doesn't look happy, I can tell that he doesn't believe me. But if Logan doesn't want me to tell anyone, I won't. Melanie helps me off of the floor. It looks like the only people who don't believe me that nothing is going on between me and Logan are the people I love most.
