Little Charlie

Chapter - 1

What do you do if your world turns upside down in a blink of an eye?

Little Charlie doesn't even know that her mother is dead. She still thinks that her mother is sleeping peacefully and doesn't want to disturb her but she does know that the way she is sleeping on floor and blood is oozing out of her is not good .

As curious she become she tries to wake her up but nothing works. She clutches her Ollie a.k.a her teddy bear which her mother gifted her on her 2nd birthday and its with her till now she takes it wherever she goes and ran across the room where her mumma has kept her phone and dialed 911 as her mother told her if she feels something wrong she should call 911 and they will send a person to them for help.

She did exactly that "Hello this is 911. What's your emergency?" asked the officer on the line. "My – my mumma not wakin' up.." said little Charlie while sniffing and hugging Ollie to her chest to get some comfort. "Hey sweetheart Can you tell me are you alone and where is you mumma right now?" the officer asked politely to little Charlie not to scare her even more. "M not alone ... m with mumma but mumma on floor 'nd not wakin' up and-and red liquid is comin' out" little Charlie told the officer on line and cried silently. " Don't worry sweetheart my friends are on their way to come and get you and your mumma. Don't cut the call and talk to me ok? What your name sweetheart?" the officer asked just to distract the girl who doesn't know what's happening.

"Mahh name? Mumma told Charlie not to tell her name to stranger and Charlie listen to mumma." little Charlie told the officer unknown to the fact that she already told her name because according to Charlie stranger danger. "ok sweetheart how about I tell you my name and then you can tell me yours?" asked the officer. "umm.. m'kay" little Charlie agree to her as according to Charlie she won't be a stranger if they exchange their name right?. "So, my name is Stacy and What's your name sweetheart?" Stacy asked her. "Mah name is Charlie Rose and m 5 yrs old. Mahh best friend is lily and my mumma and-and I like color blue and I like to play in garden but-but mumma don't let me when it gets dark..." little Charlie ramble about everything and anything to Stacy .

As Charlie was speaking to Stacy officer John and Officer Michael has arrived at the house to help little Charlie and her mother. "Ok sweetheart you are so brave. So, my friends has arrived at your house ok? They will help you and your mumma can you open the door for them and they will help your mumma and bring you to me so we can have more chat yea?" Stacy asked Charlie not to scare her more while the officer enter the house.

Little Charlie liked Stacy as she is sweet and trust her and open the door. There standing where indeed two officers." Hi, sweety Can we come inside we are here to help you and your mumma." Officer John said to Charlie. Charlie just wanted her mumma to be ok as she was in the morning, she want everything to be back to normal like it was she was tired of this now. "Uh-hu Please –Please help mumma she not wakin' up" little Charlie open the door wide and let them in where her mother was lying holding the Ollie from one hand and phone in another tight to herself and runs towards her mumma. Both the Officers rushed behind her and saw the women lying on the floor lifeless with stab in her stomach.

"Mumma-mumma wake up- wake up.. see Stacy's friends' comin' to help.. Mumma...." Little Charlie started crying and sobbing as she is getting frustrated now as her mumma is not waking up. "Kid, can you go with officer John outside and we will take your mumma to the hospital to treat her" Officer Michael told Charlie while checking the women pulse as now paramedics has arrived and stretcher was pulled in to take her mother on it in the ambulance. "no-no no leaving mumma... " Charlie cried louder now. Officer John doesn't have any choice rather than to pull the little girl up and hold her as her mother was getting carried in the ambulance. "Sshh shh its okay sweety you will see your mumma soon. They will help your mumma get better ok?" officer John console the little sobbing girl who was now holding the officer and ollie tightly and crying her hearts out "Mumma come back soon".

The ambulance took little Charlie mothers whereas officer john and michael took Charlie to police station where Stacy and a social worker was waiting for her. Little Charlie was fast asleep now with the crying and exhaustion holding Ollie for comfort. Little Charlie doesn't know that her mumma is not going to ever come back now.. because She's dead.
