They find their way past vending machines, out to a balcony. They stare out over the town, trying not to acknowledge the guilt that by all means they were partially responsible for Beatrice landing in the hospital, at least in their mind. And yet she had so quickly offered to pay for the bill despite it being Seron's body that was hurt.

"You look ridiculous in that dress." Hannah says quietly.

"Morgan's foster parent's picked it," Seron mumbles, looking out at the town again. "They'd never wear a dress like this if she chose it."

"I didn't want to leave you, Seron. And I don't see Johnny when I look at you. Not once in my life." Hannah tells them, slowly inching closer.

"Then why'd you leave?" Seron whispers, voice cracking. "Maya left, Jenny and Charlotte left, and still, all they can see is him. What makes you different from them?"

"Sometimes I hear him in your voice." Hannah admits quietly. "The things you and Harley say about yourselves. I hated it. I was losing so much control. I think you hear him too, in your head. We loved each other, Seron. We were so much closer than Maya and the twins had ever been. So, when I left-" Hannah's voice cracks. "Why did you immediately hate me like you hated them? You turned on me so fast I was always sure Jonathan had said something to you to make you think that way."

Seron remembered what happened all too well. How could they not? Jonathan had made sure it was cemented in their memory.

No one's here to save you.

"Jonathan liked to make phone calls home," Seron says, struggling to seem off-handed. "And he would always ask for me, or Harley. He'd say things, threats-" How little everyone else cared about me. How he was the only one who cared. "-that he knew would get to us. I couldn't argue with what felt true."

"I left because I couldn't take that house anymore. It was stifling, I felt like I was suffocating. But I also knew I couldn't handle it anymore. I wanted a better life for you and Harley." Seron can hear the sadness in her voice. "I scrambled for jobs, and Christine helped even though she didn't have to, but-" Her voice cracked again. "You hated me. You blocked me on everything, you wouldn't answer my phone. And I knew if I tried taking the other kids you'd hate me and refuse to go, but then you'd hate me for leaving you alone. I just didn't know what to do-" Hannah starts quietly crying.

Seron shifted closer to Hannah, leaning closer to her side. "I just felt so alone," Seron says quietly. "I didn't know how to feel about anything. You made it easier, you made everything easier. And then I felt like I lost control...I'm sorry."

Hannah on impulse puts her arms around Seron and hugs them from the side. Despite the fact that Seron never thought they'd so much as let Hannah look at them again, he leaned into the hug, hugging her back carefully and quietly, letting their face be buried in her side.

"Oh, Ronny-" Hannah chokes out. "I missed you so much. I'm so sorry I didn't try harder for you guys."

"I missed you too," Seron whispers. "I'm sorry I pulled away so much."

"Please come home with me." Hannah pleads. "Please, let me take you guys home."

"I want to," Seron says quietly. "But I can't. I can't leave them, I-" Seron's voice breaks slightly at the thought of leaving Morgan and Beatrice. "They're too important."

"Leave who? The other people in the hospital room?" Hannah asks. "I'm sure we can figure something out, Ronny." She turns to look back at Seron, her hair moved aside when she had turned, showing the scar covering most of the bottom half of the left side of her face.

"Morgan's in a foster home, she can't leave, and I actually have friends, for once," Seron murmured, looking up at Hannah's scar. "Did he use a knife that time?" he asks quietly. "It...it was him, wasn't it?"
