Nevada was working at the library when she got a call from Arizona’s principal.
“Hello?” she said.
“Hi, this is the assistant principal, Howard Nuggin. I’m here to tell you that your sister had another incident today and that she wants to go home.”
“Okay, I’ll be there in 5.” After telling her manager what happened, she got inside her car and drove off to Arizona’s school. Nevada walked into the nurse office, she saw Arizona sitting on a chair with her backpack.
“Hey, Arizona.” Nevada said, but Arizona slowly turned her head the other way as she didn’t say a word to her sister.
Nevada sighed as she went to sign Arizona out. As they got home, Nevada tried to ask Arizona what happened, but she quickly got out of the car and quickly walked inside the house.
“YOU FORGOT TO CLOSE THE DOOR, UGH!” Nevada said frustratedly. She got out of the car, closed the doors and walked inside the house. Nevada walked to Arizona’s room door. It was locked, so she knocked and asked if she would open the door.
“No!” Arizona yelled back.
“Girl, if you don't open this door, I swe-”
“I hate myself! I wanna die!” Arizona yelped.
"No, Ari, you listen to me, okay? Whatever them kids are saying, whatever them kids are doing, don't let that affect you. You're perfect-"
"I'm not perfect..." Tears began to fall from Arizona's eyes.
"No one is, Ari... not you, not I, not them kids in your school. But godd*mn it, Ari, you're one hundred percent the best you. I love you, very much. You don't have to go to school tomorrow, I'll handle it. Just remember I'm always here for when you need it."
Nevada got up from the door and began to walk down the stairs when, Arizona called out her name.
"Yeah?"
"I love you too."
