I opened my eyes and rolled onto my back. I was in the guest room of my aunt's house. It's like my heart broke all over again. I was really hoping it was all just some bad dream.

"I smell gross. I need clothes so I can take a shower."

I rolled out of bed and put my feet on the floor. My head didn't hurt as much as yesterday but the stitched up cut was sore. I wonder if she has anything to help with that?

I made my way out of the room and down the hall way looking for auntie. I finally got a peek of her sitting on the back porch smoking a cigarette while talking on the phone. I didn't want to interrupt so I just listened in on the conversation.

"Yah, I won't be in this week... Nah, I already placed the order so you should be fine until then... I'm fine crystal quit your naggin'... Thanks doll, see ya next week yah?... bye." It sounded like she was calling the bar.

"Good afternoon sleeping beauty! How ya feelin?" She turned around in her chair to face me.

"My cut hurts and I'm sore but otherwise fine." I walked up to stand beside her and laid my head on her shoulder.

"That's to be expected. Now, you know I love you but you smell to high heaven. I've got you a change of clothes sitting by the sink in the bathroom. Go and wash up while I make breakfast. Sound good?" She pat my back, but I didn't want to move. She smelled like sweet perfume and cigarettes. It was an oddly calming smell.

"I don't wanna move." Right as I spoke my stomach decided to demonstrate its whale impersonation.

"Sounds like your stomach disagrees with ya." She let out a laugh and stood up. "C'mon hop to it kiddo we still got some thing we gotta talk about." She slung her arm around my shoulders and walked me inside.

"Fine I'm going!" I trudged to the bathroom only to see the door was laying diagonal to its frame.

Oh yah she kicked it down when I got sick.

"Hey auntie! Come here for a sec!"

"What's up kiddo?" She walked around the corner and I pointed at the door. "Oh, yeah. I forgot...just use my bathroom. It's the second door on the left in my room." She turned around and walked back to the kitchen to cook.

"Well alrighty then." How do you forget you knocked down a whole ass door in your own house?

I made my way with the directions I was given. Her room was huge. There were two doors on either side of the room and her bed was directly in the center against the back wall.

Let's see she said second door on the left...

Twisting the knob I found a bathroom that belonged in a magazine. Just how much money does this woman make? The bathtub was big enough to fit five people, it looked more like a small pool. The shower had a remote to turn on different shower heads. All I needed was to wash dirt off I didn't know I walked into a damn spa.

After much struggle with the shower remote I managed to get clean. The water that went down the drain was brown from all the dirt I'd been thrown in the night before. It felt like I was washing away the stress. Note to self never under estimate a good shower.

I emerged squeaky clean and found my clothes resting on the sink. Auntie must have brought them in here while I was showering because I know I forgot them in the other bathroom. That woman is quiet as a mouse. I might need to put a bell on her.

I threw the clothes on and made my way back to the kitchen. I walked in on auntie making pancakes and dancing to her music. I leaned on the counter out of her sight and tried not to laugh. I'm not even sure if you could call that dancing. She looked like an ostrich trying to flag down a taxi.
