We all waited until day break before deciding on what to do. I hated every second knowing that my father was out there somewhere and there was nothing that I could do to stop it. The morphine had totally worn off but I decline taking anymore. I wanted to be able feel everything. Right now it was one of the few things that were keeping me alive and going. I also didnt feel bad for hitting muldoon, Ellie told me that I should have apoloigized but I told her that the only way I was gonna do that was if I was dying. Even then I dont think that I would be able to say it and mean it.
"So uhh, the kitty has claws." Ian said trying to calm me down a little more. I smiled and shook my head. " You have no idea, the claws I have." I pointed to my necklace. "They make this look like nothing but a sewing needle. " I said with a small laugh. He laughed at my joke and shook his head.
What we really needed was to get all the power back on. To do that we needed to get to the generator. Ellie and the black man, who I have yet to find out his name, were talking about how they needed to get to the generator room. I put my hands up and sigh. “I’ll go, I am smaller, and faster. I stand a better chance.” Robert, who woke up, had something to say about that. “You think you can handle it out there, you’re sliced to shreds as is. You think those raptors aren’t going to do worse?” I glared at him sharply. “I knocked you out easy enough. I can handle this.” I said. “Well I’ll go with you. I don’t want you out there alone.” Ellie said. I smiled and nodded. With that, we set off. I was holding the walkie talkie that Ian had the match too. He was giving us directions to lead us to where we needed to be. Everything was going smoothly after we got the power back on. Well mostly. A raptor somehow was inside the room with us. Nearly got Ellie, I pushed her out of the room, and tried to close the door..gate thing with the raptor still in it. It pushed against the door just as soon as it ran into the same gate from the other side. I groaned out in pain as it jammed my whole leg. White hot pain ran through my leg but I brought Ellie to run with me. We didn’t have much time before the raptor started to tear through the gate with its teeth and claws.
As we ran, I kept a decent pace but I knew that was slowing Ellie down. “You need to go without me. I am only slowing you down.” She shook her head and cried out a sad no. I nodded my head and pushed her. “You know you will die if you stay with me, at least you can get out and tell dad I love him for me.” She shook her head and hooked her arm within mine. “What will you have to say about this to Ian? What will you tell him? What would I have to tell him? I would have to tell him that you gave up and left yourself to be ripped apart.” She told me. I felt a tear fall. A single tear slid down my cheek. She was right. After saying that I wouldn’t leave him, how dare I leave him in literally the most permanent way. I heard my father coming down the hill, I took a couple deep breaths and shook my head. I needed to get back. If not for my sake then for Ian. He needed me, wanted me at least. I could tell. In the gentle words and touches.
Ellie was pushing Grant in the other way, away from the generator room. Away from the raptor. I crest the hill, limping, and tears drying on my cheeks, we move down to where Grant left kids in the dining/ kitchen.
We took off running back to them, and in a flash we were back in the security room. Dad and Ellie were holding the door shut, trying to reach for a gun, but she was just too short. The little girl hopped right into rebooting the software that would make the doors lock. The raptors were able to get their claws into the door, really close to my fathers hands. I stumbled my way to the gun, and I took a deep breath. When I went hunting with my dad it was always for bones that were already there. I raised it and aimed, but thankfully she got the doors to lock before I needed to shoot anything. “Were you really going to pull the trigger?” My dad asked me. I nodded my head slowly. “If I needed to, then yes. Yes I would have.”
I walked over to the phone, and called down to the building that Ian and John were in. “Mr. Hammond. The phones are working.” I said. He laughed and handed the phone to Ian. I was getting ready to say something, anything really. But then they broke the glass, I shouted before I pulled the phone away. “Get the Kids! Run!” I screamed, and then dropped the phone. “Grant!” Ian called out. I didn’t have the time to answer. I grabbed the gun again and ran behind everyone. Not because I couldn’t keep up this time, but because I was the only one that had a weapon and we knew that there were at least two raptors behind us. We learned the hard way that they were smart enough to learn how to open doors.
