Mattheo Riddle: Home for the Holidays

The second my alarm went off, I sprang out of my bed and immediately began getting ready for the day. Today was the day I went home for Christmas break, so I was more than willing to get out of bed. Christmas was always an amazing time of year, but this year was going to be even better. My boyfriend, Mattheo, was going to come with me and meet my family so he didn't have to stay alone at Hogwarts. I had thrown on some grey sweatpants and a green Slytherin long sleeve, both from Mattheo's closet. I was just finishing braiding my hair when my dorm door opened and Mattheo walked in with his duffle bag hanging from his shoulder. He dropped the bag and came over to me. "Hello love" he said, kissing my cheek. "Hi darling" I said, hugging him. "I just have go do my makeup quick and then we can go" I explained. He nodded and layed down on my bed. I shifted my attention back to my makeup and quickly finished it. I decided to go pretty basic with it today- I had used some foundation to cover up my blemishes, applied some mascara, and then put a layer of a nude and somewhat shiny lip gloss. "Alright, you ready?" I turned around, asking Mattheo who was half asleep on my bed. "Mhm" he mumbled. I chuckled. "Baby, how're you gonna make the train ride home if you can barely stay awake now?" I ask jokingly. Mattheo looked up at me and grinned. "I dunno, but I'm pretty excited to meet your parents" he said, sitting up. "They're gonna love you" I assure him. "Now cmon, let's go." I say, pulling him off my bed.

Once we got to my family's property, Mattheo and I were greeted with stunning winter scenery. I lived in a small, farming town and houses were pretty much miles apart if they weren't in town. That meant that alot of the land was fields and woods, which offered some amazing views. Snow and icicles brought immense beauty to trees, even though they didn't have their leaves, and the big, fluffy flakes of snow drifting from the sky made it even more magical. As we made our way down the driveway, the barn came into view. My parents had strung lights along the doorways and the roof of the barn, and they had also decked out the pasture fence with lighted garland. The horses peacefully grazing in their pasture had pulled together the 'country Christmas' vibe. Once we got to the front door of my family's log house, my mom immediately opened the door and engulfed me in a hug. "Welcome home sweetie!" She said. Once she let go I gave my dad a hug as well and then stepped back with Theo. "Mum, dad, this is Mattheo. Theo, this is my mum, Julie, and my dad, Ted." I introduced. "Nice to meet you sir" Mattheo said, shaking my dad's hand. "Same goes to you" my dad said, liking the fact that Mattheo shook his hand. "And a pleasure to meet you as well ma'am" he said, shaking my mother's hand as well. "It's wonderful to meet you as well dear, we've heard lots about you." She said warmly. I grinned, looking at my boyfriend, knowing that this couldn't have gone any better. "Well, what're you kids waiting for? Come in, dinners on the table." My mom ushered us inside. My dad had been kind enough to take our bags to my room, so we were able to sit down and eat right away. I couldn't help but smile as I sat down at the wooden dinner table. My boyfriend has finally met my parents and they hit it off amazingly. This was going to be an amazing break.
