JOHN MCHALE. I watched Mike's phone slip off his hands as he panicked slowly with the sound of sirens below us. Lin cursed his entire way walking towards us and grabbed me like a china doll, shook me and asked what we were going to do. There wasn't much time to think about anything, in fact, the hard rain coming from the sky made sure to get ourselves on our feet and act recklessly.

"We gotta leave now!" Mike shouted.

"Where? The police are coming to us right now!" Lin responded in despair.

They looked at me like they knew I had something to say, which I didn't. At that moment my head was as empty as the building floor we were in. Mike looked around and heard the elevator going down, Lin kept panicking and praying on his knees, and I stayed put in my place unable to move.

Mike then screamed something I could not make out what it was, I stared at him until he made sure to move myself closer to him with his powers, that's when I suddenly felt like I was brought back to earth from cloud nine.

"You see that thing there?" Mike pointed over to the opposite edge of the floor.

I looked at it. Still unable to speak. I then nodded.

"That's a boom, get in there and press the button and it will go down!" He explained.

Lin heard us and didn't think twice before stepping onto the platform. If anything he was ready to push that button regardless of who was in there.

"W-what about you?" I finally spoke.

"I'll meet you down there!" He said it confidently.

As I was about to hug Mike, a loud bang came from the floor under us, it was the police bombarding their way through the building in order to get to us. Something was telling me Mike did something to the elevator cables because if it wasn't for that the guards would definitely be closer to us.
I ran to Lin and grabbed his hands, he didn't take a second before tapping the button, in which the boom slowly started going down. It was all going smooth, but as I lost sight of Mike, I panicked and screamed his name. It was the worst thing I could've done. The police guards heard me, and as the window we were passing on was open, they quickly located us. They pointed their guns at us, and when I was ready to accept my fate, or lack of. Lin broke the glass in front of us with his powers enough for the sharp pointy piece of glass to hit the guards. They screamed in agony yet kept their position, Lin noticed it and kept throwing anything he could see at them enough for the platform we were in to go down as much as it could.

"They know we are trying to reach the first floor!" I alerted Lin.

He looked as stressed as I was. But it wasn't long until he realized something could be made for us to escape.

As the rain fell into our shoulders, Lin started pushing the ropes around and moving the platform back and forth. I held onto the metal bars around the boom, and Lin kept his hands forward. The whole thing was moving in such a way that it would eventually hit one of the windows and throw us into whatever high level we were still in, and that's what happened. Lin shouted for me to cover my eyes, and once I was about to do what he asked, I saw myself flying across the air and seeing the glass in front of me breaking before I even had the chance to touch it. Once I opened my eyes I was lying on the floor in extreme pain, yet with enough energy to stand up and find Lin struggling to get up from the wall hole he was in. I crawled and moved him out of the place he was stuck in, checked his head because in my mind he was supposed to be dead from the crash, but then he opened his eyes and smiled.

"Why are you happy?" I asked him, almost out of breath.

"Because it worked. We're alive!" He responded.
