"Jesus fucking christ," Izuku muttered, grabbing the back of Katsuki's shirt as they walked down the street. He claimed that some extra across the street was giving him a dirty look, and of course, his solution was to attempt murder. Thankfully, Izuku caught him in time and tossed him to the side. Katsuki stumbled to get his balance while Izuku just kept walking. Since the blonde would rather die than appear as though he was following Izuku, he straightened up and kept a fast enough pace to just slightly be in front of the freckled boy.
Izuku decided to just let him have this one.
The two boys were on their way to the address All Might gave them over the phone, planning to explain everything as best as they could, as well as ask for permission to go onto Yuuei property to talk to Mr. Aizawa. Izuku was praying to a nameless god that he didn't even believe in that this All Might guy was as heroic as Katsuki seemed to think.
He had his doubts, of course. What kind of middle-aged man feeds his hair to a fifteen year old in a deserted beach? Alone, after sunset, where nobody could hear them scream? Yeah, Izuku definitely was doubting the morals of this dude.
When they arrived at the address, All Might was snapping pictures with a couple of fans, all jabbering about how fantastic he was. Katsuki tried to hide how his fanboy eyes lit up with admiration, but Izuku noticed, and it made him a little sick. What could this man possibly have done to make everyone, even stubborn ass Bakugou Katsuki, kiss his ass? It was fucking ridiculous.
All Might noticed the two boys approaching and, much to the small crowd's dismay, excused himself. His booming voice was much more polite and welcoming than Izuku had expected it to be, and his hero suit looked more like a second skin, sticking to his poster-quality muscles. Izuku snorted with disgust, thinking about the marketing team that probably had horny, middle aged moms in mind while designing the hero's costume.
Thank god his mom wasn't a huge All Might fan. That probably would've been the end of the line.
"Young Midoriya," All Might greeted. "It's nice to see you, young man. How have you been holding up? Still training? I'm sorry I had to pause our regular training schedule. Hero work is unpredictable nowadays–"
"No offense," Izuku snapped, "but I don't care, and I didn't ask. Let's just get to the point, yeah?"
Confusion suffused itself over All Might's sharp features, and a bit of hurt, too. Katsuki nudged Izuku in the ribs with his elbow, scowling at him with the power of a thousand suns. "Don't be a dick," he scoffed.
Izuku rolled his eyes, forcing the tension in his shoulders to disperse. He uncrossed his arms from his chest and tucked them in his pockets, doing his best to not piss off his ticket home. "Fine. Sorry, I guess. I just don't enjoy your existence."
"But young Midoriya, you're... you're my number one fan, aren't you?" All Might asked. "I don't understand. What happened?"
"Uh.... right. Well, if you can hold back your tears for a couple minutes, old man, I'll fill you in."
All Might's expression hardened, and he nodded swiftly, leading the two boys around the apartment building and up a few flights of stairs. Izuku and Katsuki were both equally confused, especially when they emerged into the apartment and saw an even older man curled up on a plastic-covered couch with a yellow cape draped over him like a blanket.
Izuku recognized him immediately, and his blood ran cold. "What the fuck?!"
All Might's eyes widened with horror, snapping his neck to see if Young Midoriya really just cursed in his presence. Or at all, really. Katsuki didn't seem as shocked, just offered All Might a shrug and tried to keep his excited, bubbling nerves down in the pit of his stomach.
