Kris' POV

I could feel myself dozing off in the middle of class, tired from our last adventure yesterday. I could slightly feel Y/n tapping me to check if I'm awake.

"Krissss? Helloooo?" they poked me. "Yeah I'm awake.." I groaned. "You wanna swing by my house and play video games later?" they smiled. I perked up and smiled, nodding. Y/n was my best friend. I have known them since 4th grade and I... I really really like them. I've liked them for maybe... 3 maybe 4 years now? We pulled pranks together... They were there for me when Asriel left... they're just so perfect. "Yay!!" they giggled. I slightly blushed from their excitement. "Cute.." I whispered. "Huh?" they hummed. "N-nothing," I said.

"I hope you guys aren't planning to hang out without me!" Susie chuckled. "I mean, if Kris doesn't mind!" they looked toward me. "It's your house.. it should be your decision," I said quietly. "I'll only agree if you're down though..." they put their hand on mine. They looked at me tenderly making my face heat up. "Uhhhhh, now that I think about it? I'm good. YOU guys should go on without me," she smirked. I felt slightly relieved that she changed her mind. I couldn't really tell why but I did. Y/n squeezed my hand before quickly letting go. "Y-yeah! Um, that's okay!" they said slightly flustered.

"S-so you can choose between a diorama, a poster, a song, or a written story for your presentation!" Alphys said. "Ooh, can we do the written story?" Y/n said excitedly. "If you want, I don't mind," I smiled. "A poster would be SO much easier though! Why would we waste time writing a story when we can just draw something cool and be done!" Susie protested. "Oh please Susie like you're gonna do your project," I folded my arms. "Uh, yeah I would!" she crossed her arms. "Of course, if you really want to go above and beyond, you could d-draw a whole comic series featuring characters from your favourite animated tv shows in the roles of the reading's protagonists... but then I'd also highly suggest an extra one-page essay outlining you characterization choices because you know Astral Wolf would NOT be a good match for Captain Ahab in this context--" Alphys rambled on and on. "God I'm so tired..." Y/n groaned, stretching out on their desk before folding their arms to act as a pillow. "Honestly, last night drained me..." I said. "PFt- THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!-" they giggled. My face went completely red at the thought of us kissing in general, much less THAT? I groaned in fatigue slightly into my arm, super flustered.

"Shoot, now w-where'd I put that diorama.." Alphys looked around puzzled. "KRIS Y/N AND I WILL GET IT FOR YOU MS. ALPHYS!" Susie shot up. The entire class turned around to face her except me and Y/n. "Ahh, Susie, that's very generous of you! Although yesterday you uh... didn't r-really actually didn't bring back those books until four hours later... b-but sure! I'd appreciate it if you went and got those for me," she smiled. "Yeah, sure," Susie waved off. "*sigh* Let's go Kris..." we got up.

"Third day in a row you want to do this?" I groaned. "Duh! Why would anyone sit through another BORING lecture from Ms. Alphys when the Dark World is right down the hall?" Susie said. "Well... you never asked if we did," Y/n said, quickening their pace to catch up to us. "C'mon guys... you know I get into that place without you two. For some weird reason..." she grumbled. We approached the closet and felt the same eerieness we felt all those days ago. "And seriously, I know you two would rather be there than in class," she said matter-of-factly. I felt the junk in my pocket before smiling. "..Yeah you're right," I replied. "Of course, who WOULD?" Y/n said, laughing at the thought of wanting to stay in class. "Berdly," I held back my laughter. "Berdly's opinion doesn't COUNT he's annoying as hell," Y/n dragged on. "Damn straight! There's the Y/n I know and love!" Susie said opening the closet. I slightly frowned in irritation at the thought of Susie having a crush on Y/n. Wait- I'm not being possessive am I? Susie probably didn't mean anything by it and I'm just overthinking through this... I just..
