~×God Wouldn't Let It Live×~
Something about summer rain pelting on your skin, causing it to prickle and cling to you uncomfortably, kept your heavy heart from sinking completely. It was almost unbearable to even let your sorrows drown you. Your clothes became drenched as you walked along the sidewalk slowly. Your hair clung to your neck and face as large droplets rolled off the side of your face and neck, every so often you'd lick your lips to clear off the water only for it to be replaced. You weren't sure where you were going, all you knew was that your legs kept you moving.
The weight of the last two weeks finally caught up to you. You were okay, or you thought you were, as you went around living your life. You got yourself a new piercing, dyed your hair and even got it cut a bit shorter than you would have normally liked it. And yet, none of it helped ease the pain that settled within your chest. A pain that just wouldn't go away no matter how much alcohol or weed you'd consume to try and make it go. That's how you found yourself walking in the summer evening rain, in Ohio. It all became suffocating. You needed to escape.
After what felt like hours you finally find yourself on someone's doorstep. Subconsciously you knew where you were which helped aid your arm when it began to lift up. You press the doorbell only to drop your hand and wait. Not even ten seconds later, the front door swings open.
"Hel-.....oh. Y/n?"
Your sad eyes lift up to meet those of a woman who was in your life not for long but long enough to make you feel like family. Like you'd somehow known them all longer than almost 12 years. Melina Vostokoff, your best friend's mother.
"Hi mama Melina..." your voice sounded so meek, little even. But it held so much pain that Melina felt her once ice heart crack a little. "...is Natasha home?"
"No sweet angel. She's out with Wanda."
Just then a strike of lightning lit up the sky causing your shoulders to tremble as you squeeze your eyes shut. No matter how much emotional pain you felt, thunderstorms were still something you were terrified of.
"Come in, get out of that rain before you catch your death." Melina ushers you inside and you were quickly striken with sorrow as you watch a puddle begin to form around your feet.
"I'm sorry..."
Melina turns to face you after she's shut the front door and slowly tilts her head in confusion. "For what sweet one?"
