A/n: Finally got the Alice entry finished. This one took a lot longer then anticipated but, pretty happy with how it turned out. Hope you all enjoy it.~
The sound of squeaking echoes along the gloomy looking hallway as the fluorescent lights above cast an eerie glow. A few patients sat outside of their rooms as a young surgeon made her way past each of them with a tired smile. She clenched her phone in her hand as pieces of blonde hair hung out from the messy bun that had been tossed up in a hurry before her recent surgery.
"Have a good evening, Dr. Warren." A spunky little nurse said from behind the desk. The young woman gave her a nod, smile and wave as she walked by the desk and down another hallway.
Alice Warren, a young surgeon who works long hours pretty much every day, stepped outside into the crisp winter night. Wisps of snowflakes fluttered around her as the wind rustled her hair and sent a chill down her spine. She didn't mind it though, it took the heat of being in a surgery room all day away. The 24 hour shift weighed on her mind as she slipped into her car and started it up. Alice sits there, allowing the vehicle to warm up, and let herself dissociate from the world.

As the door to the apartment unlocks, Alice pushes her way inside. She cursed at the way the door needed help to even open, she'd have to call the landlord and let them know. Alice sighs as another problem arises. The door needed to be shut with force because of this, but once it was sealed, she locked the top and bottom lock and then headed through the apartment. As she got closer to the living area, all of that gloom she felt dissipated.
Music played softly from the kitchen as Alice got a whiff of a hearty cooked meal. Her stomach grumbled and that's when she realized that she hadn't eaten in hours. She passes by the living room, seeing it spotless from the mess she left behind yesterday, and walks into the kitchen only to spot her partner. The young individual stood there in a pair of blue jeans and a blue sweater that Alice had given them for their birthday. It warmed her heart knowing they still wore the things she bought them, even if it was a simple sweater.
She leaned against the door frame and observed as they washed the dishes they had dirtied up during dinner prep.
"I see the water got fixed?"
You jump on spot and turn your head around to spot your girlfriend of three years. She looked exhausted but had the most loving expression on her face.
"Honey! You're home!"
"Hi baby.~" Alice says.
Grabbing the dish towel from your shoulder, you walk around the kitchen table and right up to the other woman. You were a few inches taller than her, the way she liked it, but that didn't stop you from wrapping her up in a hug with a much needed kiss. One that melted Alice to the very core as she slips her arms around your shoulders and tugs you in to deepen the kiss. Your fingers interlock behind her back and you stay like that, for a good while. The kiss was simple and ended in soft pecks as you slowly swayed the both of you to the music on the ihome dock you used. Times like these, where Alice would come home after a long shift, finding the apartment clean and dinner cooked, makes her want to marry you. But you knew she wasn't ready, at least she says she wasn't and you respected that. You were just happy to have her in your life period.
"Yes. I hounded the landlord all morning until he came by himself and fixed it." You say right against her lips as Alice runs her hands along your back soothingly. "And don't worry about the front door, my cousin is coming by to check it out tomorrow."
