~×But I told you, even then you looked so pretty.×~

You awoke with a splitting headache and nausea that made your entire being tingle; from head to toe. Your eyes remained shut as you tried to process what was happening around you. Your brain was half awake, and the feeling that something was different nestled right in the forefront of your mind. It ate at you while your body tried to muster up the strength to sit up. You groan and then swallow, feeling how thick your saliva felt as it went down like sandpaper. Your throat is feeling shredded for some reason. This made you whine as your eyes slowly open. The dim lighting in your room didn't bother your headache, thank god, but you still felt like shit.

Looking around, a flood of memories start to hit you one after the other. Which brought up the pain of yesterday. And you felt your face scrunch up in pain as you dropped your head into your hands and cried into your palms silently.

.

Crying only worsened your headache. But the second you caught a whiff of bacon and coffee, you knew food might help your state. So once you got enough strength to push yourself out of bed and over to the door, you knew something else was wrong when you about fainted. Your grip onto the door handle, hugging the thin blanket from the chair next to your bed around your shoulders to keep the chill from freezing your trembling body. A cold sweat begins to form on your brow as you use every last bit of energy just to slink out of the room and down the hallway.

The travel to the top of the steps causes you to stop and peer down. They looked longer from up there. As if they were stretching out and narrowing a bit. You whimper and cling onto the railing with one hand. The small feeling settled around you while you did your best to take it easy and take one step at a time. You really did feel like utter shit.

You had to stop half way and sit on the stairs, the dizziness coming back full force and causing your world to tilt. You close your eyes and try to take deep breaths; in - out. In - out. Once you feel okay enough to continue, you stand up on weak legs and step onto the next step. Your eyes remain closed as you use the railing for guidance. And of course it helped because before you knew it, you had reached the bottom and could open your eyes again. A relieved sigh leaves your lips.

Sounds of silverware clinking against glass plates and soft mumbles of a conversation filled your otherwise foggy ears. It was like you were under water and only the ambience of a family having breakfast together filled your entire being.

~

"Natasha, pass me the bacon."

"Alexei, don't drink all of the vodka."

"Let me tell you how captain America lost to drinking match with me."

"Papa, don't. Not again, please."

The dining room was filled with chatter as the little family did their routine squabble. Alexei sat at the head of the table, Natasha on his left and Melina to his right. Yelena sat next to Melina and then an empty spot next to Natasha that was always your spot. It had an empty plate and empty glass with silverware next to the plate in the spot, waiting for you.

As you finally make it to the entrance, you look up and blurrily spot the family of your dreams. Tears pricking your eyes when the warmth of their love for one another became almost too much to handle. That's when emerald orbs met yours. Your heart stopped working momentarily while your breath caught in your throat. The feeling of unconditional, platonic, love filled you. Natasha, your platonic soulmate, she was there. To complete the family. "Natasha..."

"Ангел(angel)," it came out winded as Natasha's fork clattered to the plate just as she got up and speed walked over to your shaking form. She could see how white you looked, and when she reached you she felt how clammy your skin was from just cupping your cheeks in her hands. They were soft and smelled of lavender as your face squishes a bit under the touch, making your lips pucker slightly as you gaze up at her. "Oh my sweet angel. You look terrible."
