"Here, I got you some buffet food," Vinny happily told Valerie as he sat back down at their table.

Valerie's mother and Danny were off dancing with the brides, so the two had some time to themselves, without a little child whining and without an interrogating mother.

"Ooo, the best food to exist!" Valerie sarcastically laughed, "Thanks, Vin," and stood up for a quick kiss.

"Let's dig in, shall we?"

"We shall!"

"Vinny....heh. As lovely as this meal is, could I—oh, I don't know—maybe have a few of your chocolate brownies?" Valerie asked shyly through her lashes.

He sighed and gave her a 'are you serious' look.

"Please," she said, jutting out her bottom lip and making a pouty face.

Vinny shook his head, laughing, and picked up a brownie and popped it on her plate.

"There yo-"

"Can I also have some of your fries?" She eagerly asked, watching his every movement like a hawk.

"Val, the way you are watching me is making me feel like Ricky is hiding somewhere, ready to update."

"Please," she said, shaking his arm, and he smiled.

"On one condition, though," he smiled, flicking her forehead, "I feed you."

"Okay, it's food. Whatever!" She laughed, not feeling embarrassed in the slightest.

His eyes widened, but he followed through, continuing to give her his fries, but he stopped suddenly, a sharp pain shooting through his finger.

"Ouch," he hissed, "okay, I'm not the boogie man, but are you sure you aren't? Or a vampire at least?" He yelped, "No more fries for you."

"I'm not a vampire, but I feel like one," she sang with a laugh, but she took his finger in her hand and kissed it.

"We've had too much falling in reverse for the day! Mrs. Twit, will you care to accompany me to get another drink, and maybe you can show off your moves on the dance floor?" Vinny smirked, his hands gliding down Valerie's body.

"Of course, Mr. Twit," she laughed, linking their arms together as they walked to the bar.

▪️

"You didn't tell me you had a brother," Vinny sighed, sipping on a bottle of cider and looking at Danny on the dance floor with Jordan and Taylor.

"Sorry, there is still a lot we don't know about each other, huh?" She sighed, plopping her head on his shoulder. "He is my half brother. "My parents divorced when I was 12; my father cheated, so my mother kicked him out."

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry, Valerie. I can't imagine how you feel," Vinny sighed, placing his hand on the small of her back.

"Eh, it's okay. I went to a therapist for a few years, thinking I was the one who caused them to break up. But no. Then the little creature came along four years into my mom's new relationship; he is the nicest kid I know"

"Yeah, he is a bundle of joy. He reminds me of you"

"Good to know," she laughed, taking a sip from her Malibu and Coke. "Here, try this," she told Vinny, putting the glass to his lips.

"Woah tiger, I'm not a massive fan of Malibu," he chuckled, taking a small sip from the glass and grimacing.

"Fair enough, wanna go dance now?" Valerie smiled, knocking the last of her drink back.
