"Jay, we're going to need your help in this next fight," Tsubaki spoke as he walked into the infirmary the next morning. "If these two aren't feeling up to fighting, we'll need someone to cover them."
He looked at the beds that housed the still unconscious Braxton and Jinx. Along with Cookie, two of his top agents were out for the count and that worried him, but luckily he had other Powerful beings on his team that could fill in. Jay flexed his muscles, rolling his neck and shoulders before showing off the strange mechanical arm that now sat proudly on the left side of his body. It looked weak and fragile, but Tsubkai knew it could control his Lightning Powers well, he had inherited it from Voltier after all.
"I think I'm ready to test this thing out," the Dutchie spoke.
"Good, with me."
"Are you sure you're ready to get back into it?" Ash asked as Tsubkai and Jay exited the infirmary.
"Like you said, Ruin isn't going to sit around and do nothing, so we have to do something to stop him before he does something bad. We're the first line of defense against him, and thanks to Gabe, we know what we need to do. With Zuka holding you back, and Jinx knocked out from his last fight, it really falls on me to step up. I'll have Gabe with me as well to watch over," Tsubaki explained as the large Dog walked up beside him.
"He will come back okay, you have my word," Gabe spoke.
"Kunai, Elena, Jay, Gabe, Anarchy, and I will tackle this second Beacon and come home safe," Tsubaki placed a paw on Ash's head and gave him a rub and a smile before walking to Anarchy's side. Ash looked on as the team all gave him a paws up before stepping through a Portal and disappearing from sight, leaving him with the Black Bear.
"You're not going with them?" Ash asked.
Dusk shook his head a moment. "I have no need to go off and fight. Plus someone has to watch over you and make sure you don't go after Zuka, I know you want him gone."
"Of course I do, he's got Sky under his paw, and everyone here has been brainwashed by him," Ash replied. "But I can't just attack him, we need allies before anything. Speaking of, have you talked to Charcoal already?"
"Unfortunately not, something else came up that required my attention."
"Let's go find him then, maybe the two of us will be able to get something out of him."
The two of them found Charcoal talking with Arctyc in the briefing room, near the large holographic table that now displayed the village. A red indicator blinked near where Anarchy had opened up the Portal.
"Asher, Dusk," Charcoal noticed them and turned. "What's up?"
"Could we talk to you for a moment?" Dusk asked.
"I'll leave, talk to you later Charcoal," Arctyc replied before exiting the room.
"What's up?" Charcoal looked back at them and caught Dusk off guard. Something was wrong.
"Do you remember talking to Jinx the other day?" Ash asked, unaware of what Dusk had noticed.
"No, I'm sorry," the orange Fox replied. "Maybe it was something to do with Zuka, but I'm not entirely sure."
"You talked about how his outlook on all of this was wrong," Dusk responded. "And that he needed to be stopped."
"I don't remember that. But if you're planning some kind of rebellion, I'd recommend against it. Zuka is Powerful, and he won't hesitate to hurt you. You wouldn't want to lose to him, would you, Ash?" Charcoal shot Asher a look as Dusk circled him. His smile was off putting, as if he was looking right through them.
