Asher let out a sigh as the warmth of the sun beamed down upon him, he basked in the strange sensation of heat on his face, a cool breeze flew through the green grassy plains and rustled his fur. The weather had only been gone a few days but it felt like an eternity to those that were so used to it, he had no idea if it was night or day outside, what time it was, what day it was.
Something was placed on his head and he opened his eyes to see Stacey standing over him, petting him while also taking in a breath of fresh air.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" She asked.
"Yeah, I've forgotten just how vibrant colors could be," he replied.
"Enough basking you two," a voice came over an intercom, Asher recognized it as David's. "We're here from more testing with Ash's Powers."
"Such a party pooper," Stacey replied, winking at him. "But he's right, I'm going to take a step back and let him take over. I'll watch from down here while the rest of the team studies from in the control room. Try not to launch Fireballs at me."
Asher poked his tongue out and got ready into a low stance, spreading his legs and preparing the Energy within him.
"Okay Ash," David's voice once more filled the empty air of the holodeck. "We know what Energy looks like in its purest form, we can use our scanners to see it within you. But now we'd like to see some Power in action, and we think using some of your Fire Attacks would help us grasp the difference and allow our sensors to scan for it."
Ash simply tilted his head and turned to Stacey. "He uses a lot of big words."
The woman laughed before responding. "Use a Fire attack, let off a Fireball or something."
"Okay. David? I'm drawing in Energy," he explained the process as he felt within himself, drawing from the Source deep within him, feeling it convert into Power, and traveling around him until it came to his maw and began to spill out. He let loose a single Fireball, which prompted gasps and exclamations from the crew up above him.
"Okay that was really good," David chimed in. "We got a small difference there, could you lose a breath attack? Like a sustained breath of Fire?"
Ash nodded and drew on more Energy, a constant stream attack would need a constant draw so he focussed on the draw for a moment before bringing the Power to his maw once more. He let out a torrent of Fire as he continued to draw, Stacey took a step back away from the heat, shielding her eyes. Ash swayed a bit, sending the Fire in all directions before cutting it off after a few seconds, he felt drained, still not fully recovered from the Soul Watcher attack.
"Very good, I think we have everything now? We know what Power looks like now through our scanners and we can use that."
"Hold on," Ash replied. "You know what Fire Power looks like, what if there's a difference between the Elements? What if Fire and Air Power are different?"
"Well where are we gonna get an Air Elemental?" Stacey asked.
Asher smirked and drew on a drop of Energy, converting it to Power and feeling it flow to his front left paw. He lifted his paw up and placed it down, hovering slightly above the ground. He repeated this several times with each foot, ascending into the Air without the use of his wings and bounding around above Stacey. He felt the Power moving around to his muzzle and dropped from the platforms into a nosedive, flicking his wings into a spiral and cresting a drill of Fire in front of him. Aah launched upwards and flung his wings outwards, forcing the Fire and Air to mix and create a dazzling display of sparks and flashes of Fire in the Air.
