Jay flexed his wings as he stood in the grassy field outside the village, the morning sun high in the sky, grass beneath his feet still soggy from a thunderstorm the previous night. Across from him sat the snow leopard, his head tilted with his tail sitting grasped in his muzzle. Elena flew beside Jay, happy she was able to fly again freely.
Zuka had asked that the three of them meet out here for some training, Jinx, Marin, Braxton, King, and Kunai sat off to the side with him, while Mel watched from atop the wall. Cookie had decided to check out the village, going off on her own to explore and meet more of the locals. Zuka had reassured everyone that any use of Powers would be well hidden from any prying eyes by Mel and his Powers.
"Whenever you're ready," Zuka exclaimed.
"I kinda feel bad for the snep," Jay said to Elena as he began drawing on Energy and converted it. "There's no way he could stand up to us."
"I would not underestimate him, dear. Zuka was plenty sure of his Powers yesterday," Elena replied, doing the same.
"Only one way to find out."
Jay drew on a large portion of his Energy, converting it and feeling his fur sizzle with electricity. It was times like this that he felt Powerful, he felt strong, unbeatable. This was the reason he was one of the Queens top Sentinels, and he was ready to show his skills off.
He screamed and let loose a powerful blast of Lightning at the Leopard, Elena added her own yellow Lightning, the two attacks combining and charring the ground as they danced around each other in a fantastical display. The attack hit Sky dead on, he began to scream and writhe, falling onto his back and howling in pain.
"Heh, maybe Zuka was wrong," Jay smirked. "Is that proof enough of my Power?" He called to Zuka.
The hybrid just smiled. Laughter suddenly filled the area, they both turned back to Sky and noticed that he was rolling around in the grass laughing, he didn't seem to be in pain at all. The attack was quickly pulled into his body as he stood and faced them.
"My turn," he said in a devilish voice, his simple exterior gone, replaced by a scary confident expression. Sky charged at them, a ring of purple Lightning extending from him, completely decimating the ground as he ran. "Mow," he said as he leapt over both of them, the pulse hitting its targets. Jay and Elena collapsed to the ground and screamed out in pain. Jay felt like his entire body was being torn apart at the atomic level, he'd never been hit with such a Powerful attack, there was no way a single Elemental wielded such strength. He looked over at Elena, she was down and out for good, but he still had one trick up his sleeve.
"I'm not done yet," he said, barely able to stand, the Lighting dancing around his joints. Reaching deep within himself, he found the familiar trigger and pulled it. Feeling a single bolt travel from deep within him, up to his shoulder and then down to his finger tip. He booped himself and felt a small jolt enter his body, causing himself to shiver once, a new found Energy unlocking within him. Jay opened his eyes and looked over at the Leopard, who was preoccupied trying to chase after a butterfly. He shook his head, and with a newfound Power, launched himself at the unsuspecting Elemental. Charging his fist with all the extra Power his Overdrive had given him, he aimed to finish this fight in one attack. He landed and slammed his fist into the ground, Sky managed to leap out of the way at the last second and was now to his right. Something sharp impacted his arm and he screamed out in pain as he felt himself being drained of all his Power and Energy. Only a second passed but it felt like an eternity as Sky's jaw was clamped onto his forearm. The Leopard jumped away and Jay fell onto one knee.
"What... the hell did you do to me?" He asked, looking over and seeing Sky twitch, his eyes closed and his body shaking.
"I... I took all of your... your Power... I've never... had this much..."
