HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: fate knows what it's doing, and it does not make mistakes. So when Su Lin breathed her last as a human in the mortal realm and ascended after passing a Heavenly Calamity? Yeah, that was not a mistake. Unfortunately, the rest of Heaven didn't seem to get the memo — or maybe they threw it out — and subjected the young martial goddess to years ( read: decades ) of humiliating rumors, misogyny, and flat out ignoring her existence as they waited, hoping she would eventually just disappear.

Now see, here's the second thing you need to know: Su Lin may be the youngest heavenly official to ever ascend at only fourteen, but it wasn't without reason. The martial goddess they are all keen on ignoring fought two armies within two months and destroyed both, ultimately leading to the collapse of an entire kingdom not a year after her death and ascension. So, really, the memo — the actual memo — the other deities of Heaven didn't get? Su Lin wasn't just going to disappear, but they would certainly think that she had.

Centuries following Su Lin's supposedly disappeared from Heaven, a pretty boy with a gait like a peacock established himself as a cocky martial god with irritatingly undeniable prowess and reverence. It was a carefully crafted scheme, a charade to fool nearly all of Heaven, but it had needed time for everything to fall in place; for Su Lin to master her transformation spell; for the Heavenly Capital to believe the "stain" was gone. She wasn't, but with her male form, they weren't going to know that.

It left her with a perfectly set stage for getting involved in godly hijinks, and all that was missing was an extended cast. Which is of course when the Crown Prince and laughing stock of the realms ascends for the third time, so naturally Su Lin befriends him. Because if you missed it before, fate knows exactly what it's doing, and it has a sense of humor.
